Got my toll road evasion ticket lol. $42.50.
I just want to say driving on San Diego area highways is quite a challenge for an out of towner.
The motorcycles lane splitting have a death wish as well as cars inches from your bumper and weaving lane to lane to get a car length ahead.
Can't believe the amount of cars every day at all times.

Been making a couple trips to see a friend in need.
Found out Acura's navigation system sux. Took me a different way everyday.
I kind of knew I had to get on the 125 to get to Hwy 8.
I get on entrance ramp and I'm in the pass thru lane. Can't do anything with people behind me so I keep going.
Heeere's yer ticket

Not all of us are “All motorcycles lane splitting are assholes” people. We are just “Most SoCal lane splitters on freeways are assholes” people. 😂😂

The thing that’s really going to suck is when the speed cameras starting in LA go statewide.

I'm sure I've been called an Ahole when I pass people on my bike but these guys were triple digits
They were splitting hairs going between cars.
There weren't many people speeding or you couldn't with so much traffic.
Speeds were anywhere from 10 mph under to 10 mph over. It changed all the time.

I just assume these guys have a nothing-to-lose attitude and look forward to calling the "Law Tigers" and suing me for everything they can get.

There is usually a grace period to pay a toll.
You would just go to toll company website and submit a request to pay any tolls matching your plate #.
Thats how it used to be with the Toll Roads.
If not--worth a call and explanation to see if they can reduce it.

I received a Golden Gate toll evasion ticket recently. I live in Oregon. It was for a truck I traded in months prior. I wasn't in California at the time of the ticket either. I contested, and sent them the trade-in paperwork for the truck showing it wasn't mine anymore. They said it wasn't sufficient proof!

Best $25 I ever spent was the toll ticket on the 91 towing my toy hauler 🤣🤣. 10pm on the 55 with no transponder and the 91 STOPPED I said screw it, hopped in California's Go-Fund-Me lane and bypassed a 2 hour delay from a car accident. 2 weeks later paid the toll. Thanks CA!

I did go to the site and ask for forgiveness.

$2.50 toll, $40 fine
If not paid by Oct 11 it's $102.50

This north county SD local hasn't been to that area in so many years, I didn't even know we had a toll road

The best thing about California is legal lane splitting.

I considered it a warning that if a reason arises to drive down that far south, I better pay attention so I don't end up like the OP.

Got 2 violations going through San Diego in the new truck. Tolls were 70 cents and 85 cents. Got the violation for $85 or so.

Truck was already added to our acct 🤷‍♂️. Had to call 3 different offices to get it cleared up. I guess fastrack , 91 toll lanes & toll lanes are all different offices, yet somehow linked.

BTW the weather sucked that day lol

When ever this has happened to me I just log into my account and add the car for the day the violation occurred.. I’ve never paid the “fine”, just the toll after they sent me the violation.

Really? I don't have a problem paying the fine. It's not like I was trying to get away with not paying $2.50 lol

I was curious why anyone would want to deal with the traffic and all the mayhem just because of the weather.
We did get to see our daughter a couple times. Then she wanted to take us out to dinner in the gas lamp area.
I said I can't go out there lol.
She picked us up and then try and find parking and pay for that and then pay out yer ass for food.
We followed our friend one night to a nice little italian restaurant.
I don't do shots but was ready for a bottle when we got there

Yes. You go in and add the car and it says “you have a violation on this car, do you want this backdated to that day and pay the toll?” I just did this in the last year with a couple cars that now have different plates because I moved.

There might have been a couple dollar fee for that. I got 3 of those notifications took care of all that way

The only way to do downtown is by motorcycle or Train / trolley. I never drive a car downtown.

So I MIGHT know someone who MIGHT have gotten a couple toll road tickets by mail that they MIGHT have ignored since they live in Arizona and not California.

This person was towing a trailer (the camera only saw the trailer plate) going out to pick up a Harley they bought and unknowingly ended up being sent on a toll road by the GPS.

How serious are they about collecting the fees?
The bill is coming from The Toll Roads.

Asking for a friend... 🤫

if you don't pay they send a letter after 10 days. If you don't see those it goes to your registration fees. I'm bad at checking my mail and use the toll all the time going to the river on Fridays.

Loud pipes save lives.

The average SoCal freeway motorcycle can’t be heard for more than 1 second before it’s passed you and flipping the bird. I’ve seen 2 wad up in between cars when their handlebars catch the mirrors of cars that don’t even have time to register that the bike is coming much less move over. Loud pipes aren’t saving any of those retards.

While others splitting lanes don't really bother me, I question the intelligence of a guy with a full dress bike splitting the lane next to a 102" wide equipment trailer pulled by a dually. I've had a mirror cracked from one of these academics before. SMH 🙄

Not to get you guys off track or anything 😊 but to address the thread title you may not realize how many gentle folk we have here with their hands held out reaching for the government teats....😉😉
Heard of theories a large % of them are likely from outer space. 🤷‍♂️😊

It's been 3 weeks since I sent in my dispute for my toll evasion ticket and haven't heard a word.
I wrote a nice letter saying I wasn't trying to evade paying $2.50, I just missed the toll booth lol.
I put $3 cash in with the letter and said if it wasn't good enough then go buy yourself a beer,
Or half a beer in CA lol.

That is cheap. Try NY

We ended up having to go across the George Washington bridge in NY while towing our 5th wheel. $21 per axle, so $84. Only had $80 on me, because the gas station we had to fight to get into the credit card system was down and had to use cash. Anyway I asked the toll guy if they take credit cards. Nope and they don't take sunpass (FL toll thing) He said they will send in the mail. Get the bill. $84 plus $50 admin fee. Pretty sure I won't ever go there again.

I made it from Culver City to North Valencia in less than 45 minutes on my bike yesterday. This is leaving at 3:30 in the afternoon when the entirety of the 405 was bumper to bumper, and the 5 was seriously impacted up to North of Lyons. Lane splitting (legally) is like a gift from God. On top of that, I used a total of 2.9 gallons of gas, round trip.

If you get an account, and order a sticker for every car that you own that could use on a CA toll road, you are covered. Although this sticker does not link directly to some, they will invoice your CC without a fee or penalty. I have them on every vehicle we own. https://www.thetollroads.com/

i did the same commute yesterday but left at 7pm so less traffic took almost twice as long ( 1hr 20 min) and over 10 gal.
