In the 91 fast track?

I have fastrack and need to drop a boat off in Norco after work one day. Is it legal to tow in fastrack?

I really don't care if it is, because I'll do it anyways while passing people. I just wanted to know, as to better my excuse to the PoPo! [emoji6]

As long as there's only one other lane on the entire stretch of road you'll be fine.....unfortunately there's not any places like that on the 91 toll road[emoji6]

All vehicles towing in California are limited to 55mph and have to tow in right two lanes of four or more lanes. Must also stay in right lane of two or three lanes. No fast lane no fastrack.

Unless you tow faster than the PoPo sitting in traffic?[emoji16]

It can't cost too much more than a ticket, for driving in the carpool lane.

I've always heard "if you are being safe, and you are only breaking one law at a time, you get a pass from LE." ;) 55 mph is the speed limit. :)

It’s been awhile since I have been there but I seem to remember a way to get on the fast track from the 91 in the right lanes.. When I lived in Irvine I remember towing out of Irvine on the 241 towards the 91?

I did it a few times, but for some reason I don’t believe it is “technically” legal.

Different toll lanes. The 91 Express Lanes is a no. You can tow on the 241, 73 etc. as long as you follow CA law.

You can tow in the fast track lane if you dare. It will just cost you a little more money to get to your destination if you get caught... If your lucky and don't get caught (big brother is watching) just keep your eye on your mailbox, they'll be sending you a little bill...

See vehicles towing pulled over in there at the beginning of most long holiday weekends.

They monitor the camera which will detect the second vehicle attached to your truck (the trailer). You will probably get a fine in the mail if the CHP that is usually up and down that stretch does not get your first.

When I got my first toyhauler in 2007, I towed in the 91 Fastrak all the time...until I found out it was illegal a few months later.

Back then, at least, I just paid the normal tolls on my account.

11 years later YMMV

My uncle got pulled over in the 91 Fastrak towing with his diesel pusher. Granted he’s a 6’6” guy and had a pretty “green” CHP who pulled him over. He said he was in the right hand lane of a private highway since his fee pays for it. The CHP didn’t know exactly what to say and I don’t think he got a ticket.

Depending on the time of day and which day of the week...you aint gonna lose that much time in the regular lanes. Fast trak gets backed up too. I head home from OC after 4....and it's a difference of 10-20 minutes according to Waze usually.

Different highway but I got popped on the 15 s carpool / fast tract, I get on at Del Lago and follow it to 163 south dumps you off in the slow rt lane, the popo that pulled me over was a toad real bad attitude it was 5:30 am, I was headed to work towing my dump trailer!

I also got popped for towing in the wrong lane, headed north thru Temecula towing my flat bed Trailer and all the rt lanes are jammed up/ stopped for all the peeps exiting the highway, I bumped over to the #3 lane ( not the fast lane ) to go around all the stopped traffic, porky on a bike got me! He was also a jerk. While I was pulled over 3 other people were traveling in the same lane towing a trailer! Lucky me!

While I was pulled over and asking questions the 2 cops just had bad attitudes

By the time you get off the 241 on to the 91 and the 91 fast track lane opens up there's usually no point in getting in it. If you're there around noon traffic will be better.

Fyi you need to go through the toll booth with a trailer I believe even with the fast track in your truck
