Not only is Firebird back, but the name is now too. I never called it Wildhorse Pass but its nice to see it official.. Maybe I'll hunt for a boat again.

Heard a rumor of them building a dirt track using the Grandstands&other stuff from E.T.((Arizona Speedway).
Hope it's true.
Years ago there was a dirt track on the premises.

Wasnt it where the old Compton Terrace was? I remember racing there when it became a thing. Is it gone?

I think so...
It's been years.
Dirt Track@Firebird didn't last very long, back then they were going against Manzanita.
With no dirt tracks in the Phoenix area it would be a great time.

I seem to remember if you went straight instead of turning into the hotel a little ways down was a dirt track, old man memory but I swear I heard cars back there in the late 80's when I was at the boat drags.

Lucas Oil used to run the Luvas Oil Offroad series there for several years where the Old Compton Terrace used to be. Hopefully the Ingines will keep things going and invest some money back into the place now that they have been able to break all the leases they had in place and they have full control now.

One of the GRIT council members was over to my house for dinner. He's a friend of my son. 1st time I've met him. He mentioned they're looking into bringing Compton Terrace back, but making it an indoor/outdoor venue. I asked him about the track and he mentioned it was going to close due to the widening of I-10 and where the state wanted an exit for Germman Rd. However, the exit will be modified and so they didn't have to close the track. I'm sure there is way more to that story and I didn't want to press him on it so I just left that conversation alone.
