I need to have a small brass pipe fitting chrome plated.

Anyone know a good/inexpensive place around Long Beach/OC?

If the fitting has threads you can't just arbitrarily "chrome plate" the fitting..

The chrome will build up on the threads, and then it won't work. I can find the chrome specs, and send you to general plating up in L.A. Just mail them the part, with a PO or check, and then they'll mail it back to you.

Ryan, these are the specs I would use for a fitting.

Buff External Surfaces to 32RMS
Chrome Plate per SAE AMS-QQ-320, Class 1
Under Plating per SAE AMS-QQ-N-290, Grade G

Yeah it's threaded 1/2 NPT to I think 3/4 Hose. It's a 45 degree fitting for the water inlet on my water pump.

While replacing all my fittings and hoses I couldn't find this 45 degree fitting until yesterday Bob at Glenwood was digging around in some WW2 surplus and found a brass one. I figured I'd get it chromed but now I'm thinking I might just go 90 degree and be done with it since they're readily available chromed.

I dunno what the fittings cost, but I think general plating has a minimum charge of 125.00

Hah!

A brass/chrome plated 90 degree would be under 20 bucks.

I thought the 45 looked bitchin' and all but...

Yeah, I've never had anything chromed before. I do have some silver Krylon in the garage. ;)

A 90 degree fitting should work just fine. :thumbsup
