Wrapped up some work on the TJ taking her up to Big Bear tonight. New Genright body armor, rear tire carrier, bumper delete with gusset, gas tank, fuel pump, EVAP lines, tail lights, back up lights, Savvy body lift, diff covers.

Good work. I'm going to need that same tire carrier when I get back around to the Jeep.

Very nice. I really dislike my tire carrier. Looks like you could get the spare on and off solo. Gen Right makes nice stuff.

haha yea, thats something a lot of people dont think about.

Having to wrestle a 38" wheel / tire up onto a 8" lifted jeep's swing away tire carrier sucks! I stopped carrying a spare though years back, beadlocks and tire plugs are life.

Yup, beadlocks, on board air, and plugs will get you through most. My bank account still doesn't understand that stuff.... so I'm stuck with an actual spare.

One thing a couple of friends have done with that tire carrier is to mount a Harbor Freight winch to the back section of the cage. Makes things even easier for one person.

I mostly see sidewalls taken out. No spare means driving out on the wheel is life. lol

yea, theres a fine art of stuffing sidewalls with plugs. Biggest gash i've pluged is about an 1.5" thick stick that went straight through a BFG AT sidewall, and i think i ended up stuffing 14 or so plugs in there. I even drove that sucker down the backside of Big Bear into Apple Valley to leave it at my friends place on that.

If we're doing a big weekend i'll bring an unmounted spare in the event i totally shred a tire, but mines 100% a trailer queen these days. Fully hydro steering, 1tons, and 38's and 5.13 gears is not super highway friendly
