Lance camper question

Do you guys travel with the propane on so you can run fridge? New to the game.

I can't answer for a lance camper, but yes we travel with the propane on in our trailers and the motorhome.

Thanks. Just pulled the tanks and had them filled. Replaced the lines also. Was reading inside of door and it said valve should be shut off while traveling.

I'm sure the smart thing would be to have the tank closed. I've never had a problem in any rv i've owned, the Lance included. I also remove the guard on any new grinder I buy. I live on the edge

I think this is what the danger is...

Pilot goes out, gas stays on, you can guess the rest.

With that being said...

I travel with the gas on as well.

Just be aware that there are several states where it is illegal to enter a tunnel with the propane on.

New York I believe is one of them.

Not that they would pull you over but they could. Pigs could fly out of your butt too so take it how you want to.

Yes, The newer ones are mostly 12v.

I'm still waiting on trying to track down mine... I've been hunting for a reasonably priced Northern Lite 9-6 camper. I'm really trying to avoid buying new, but its looking like I might be.

Pilot goes out, gas stays on, you can guess the rest.

If the pilot goes out the valve senses no flame(heat) shuts off.

My pilot will blow out, just precool for travel, I also added 12 volt fan to help blow air across coil helps when it's 107*

My lance fridge had tri power. I left the propane on but typically drive with it on DC, it doesn't cool as well as gas but depending on the drive, sometimes the pilot blows out. Yes you can travel with it on gas.

Yes, if the pilot goes out the flow is cut, I installed a sniffer on the floor just inside where the bottles are and if it sniffs it kills the LP at the tank connection. Been running TCs for going on 37 years.

The pilot for the fridge in my Lance would always blow out on the road and for that matter the heater wouldn't work very well either anything on propane was basically a pain in the ass in that thing.

Gas off when traveling. Not good to use propane frig when traveling, very dangerous when fueling up on gasoline or diesel, can blow you up. 12 volt frig when traveling.

When fueling...my wife clicks the fridge off and I turn the propane off. They both need to be off when fueling. If the fridge's automatic lighter is sparking trying to light on propane and there are gas fumes from the pump...BOOM! Pull away from the pumps and turn them both back on and you are good to go.

If your fridge goes out on propane while driving find a furnace filter to fit your compartment door opening and install. I clean my burner assembly yearly and vacuum out the rust and spider webs.
