Sorry to hear that. Never been to the one in cerritos. Use to go there when it was a hofs hut location. Othereise we would go to the long Beach town center or brea for Lucille's. Never had issues at those locations. But it has been a while.

Sad deal. Used to be good before they were a bigger "chain" type deal. When everyone is limited on options, it seems as though some places are taking advantage. They let their standards fall to crap. Maybe they think people won't remember? It seems like now would be the time to try your hardest. Trying to keep a job and keep a business open should be high on the list.

Holy Crap! 150$, for take out...and not for a large group. F' that! Should have been great, and come with someone to cleanup!

Haven't had that bad of an experience at ours in Valencia.
Just not really a fan and never thought it was anything special.

LUCILLE'S sucks they have gone downhill at the Long Beach Town center and Cerritos. The location down on PCH and 2nd st. isn't much better. So living in Long Beach myself I'm going back to JOHHNY REBS and Criss & PITTS.

That’s really sucks along with the fact that customer service doesn’t exist anymore. I try to
Stay clear of chain restaurants for that reason. I smoke my own meat so if it sucks I can smack myself lol. But I get the dont want to cook sometimes deal......

It's just bad bbq I had the worst brisket at the Rancho store, I was at a work Christmas party and didn't want to make a big deal about it then so I sent an email and they offered a gift cert of some sort but that's not what I was after I thought they needed to know that the food was sub standard so I refused the offer.

There's a 'Dickies' BBQ by my house that I WANT so much to like . . . but I think it's over-rated, and I'm no BBQ expert.
I'll still eat there, if I'm in the mood but my expectations have kinda fallen.
If anyone is out near Bakersfield, there was a place called 'Jakes Tex Mex' that place was killer, FWIW.

Every time I eat Lucielle's I have indigestion for days. Can't sleep that night or the next.

I've heard my whole life that BBQ is good -

When we lived in Austin TX there were 20 places that everybody said was the best BBQ ever. When I spent years traveling to Memphis I was taken to the most famous BBQ joint in town as well as some local "best ever" places - When I worked in the south driving a round Louisiana and Mississippi every sales rep I rode with had a road side BBQ place we HAD to try...

I've learned that BBQ sucks where ever you get it and what ever type they serve.

I'd rather a nicely grilled steak ANY DAY.

Do you have famous Dave’s bbq in so cal? It’s always good.

The one and only time I ate at Famous Dave's downtown Long Beach it was too salty to eat. The wife ordered something completely different and same situation with hers. We paid for our drinks and left.

Lucille's doesn't impress me either.

Johnny Rebs is where it's at. Great service and great food every time.

I think, one of the biggest issues with BBQ and smoked meats is, it’s VERY easy to dry the meat out. Too many places serve dry BBQ. Then add a ton of sauce to hide it. When it’s done RIGHT, it’s awesome. But when done wrong, ya get dry, tough meat.

I had almost exactly the same experience at the Lucille's BBQ in Woodland Hills about a month ago. Waited at the curbside pickup area at the designated time and after 15 minutes tried to go in, doors were locked, pounded on the window for 5 minutes, eventually someone comes and says OH! the curbside isn't available anymore, I ask shy don't you state that on your website. The emplo;yee couldn't have cared less. Get the food home and it is horrible! Baby back ribs are hard as a rock and over cooked.
I won't be going back there either!
I will add that dine in had been good in the past but take out in these COVID times is very bad!

Haven't been for awhile, but the one in El Toro is just OK. I think the only reason we would end up there is because we had a gift card.

Yeah, they have a few locations that I know of. I liked it the one time I went.
The few times we have had Lucilles take out, it wasn’t as good as dine in.
That is one thing I have noticed is most good does not travel well. But Lucilles has been a bit of a disappointment.

Same thing happened to my sister at Cheesecake Factory about a year ago and the manager couldn’t have cared less. She went to corporate and they sent a gift card but they’ve have never gone back.

Smoking Ribs, in Garden Grove or Bo Daddy’s in Los Angeles are the best BBQ places we have found locally.
we tried Lucille‘s in Rancho but never was very good.

The wife and I will take a Murdercycle ride all the way down to Phils BBQ in San Marcos just for their ribs. Another place is Smo-King on Euclid, Garden Grove. Can't go wrong. Both places are pick up only now. Phils will FedEX your ribs right to your door.

smoking Ribs is my buddy Kenneys place. Always awesome food

Lucille's? Not a fan. Hard to find good BBQ anymore. For a chain place I like Wood Ranch, the fact its two miles away helps.

Lucilles served me raw chicken twice. Both meals were comped after showing the manager. Best bbq I’ve had recently was from Bear Pit bbq in mission hills. Right down the street from my work. Just gotta get there for an early lunch or it’s a line

Funny you mention Kenny, we had him cater my 60th birthday bash in July 2018. We had been looking at different places to cater the event, including Lucilles, and someone mention his place in GG. Wife and I stopped by for a taste and we both loved the food and the owner as well. We made a deal and he brought his smoker and parked it in the backyard. We had over a 140 people that day and the food was off the hook and everyone was impressed. Cost me about $3,500 but was worth every penny of it.
