so do you seal the lower part of the bed off when you do this too or are you supposed to sleep on an elevated platform at the base of the shell?

In cab ice chest helmet gear bags road supplies.
In bed motor fuel cans easy up tables etc.
Back before everyone had dollys and enclosed trailers.
The stuff I saw at "Puddlestone" as a kid! That was everything a river runner could be. Just before everyone went gooseneck and dollys...way before semi trailers or toters.

Well, it makes a perfectly good dually even more useless than just lowering it with a C-notch....now along with less payload, you have less bed capacity too. win win
Please inform me how a lowered dually loses payload? We have had a lowered dually tow rig my entire life, tows better (in my opinion) and looks way fucking cooler!

C-notched frame is as strong as a non-cut frame?

🤔🤔 whats the reasoning for using this vs full bed cover or camper shell if not to sleep?? Im earnestly asking

It was a popular style back in the 80’s and 90’s.. they’d run a “sleeper” with a wing on top or a full shell with a wing as well.

The sleepers looked cooler.. granted they aren’t super functional compared to a full shell.

Polish those wheels! 👍

NADA neighbor back in the 90's had a sweet river runner dually. I have no practical use for one but I've always wanted one. Bitchin' truck Mouser!

I like that your set up is longer than the regular ones. Looks to be about half the bed rather than 1/4. Nice job!!! Oh and by the way you might want to think about polishing your wheels…🤪🤪🤪🤪
