just bought a cab hi shell for $200 cut 3 ft out of it closed off side windows .....
not for sleep lol 4ft of shell 4 ft of the black bed cover
stay open)cover will come off and rear door will open in case i gotta haul something LOLthat came out really good. whats the plan for closing off the bottom, or does it stay open?
its a cali az thing..from the 80,s /90,s.....I don’t get it either![]()
Well, it makes a perfectly good dually even more useless than just lowering it with a C-notch....now along with less payload, you have less bed capacity too. win winwhats the reasoning for using this vs full bed cover or camper shell if not to sleep?? Im earnestly asking
In cab ice chest helmet gear bags road supplies.whats the reasoning for using this vs full bed cover or camper shell if not to sleep?? Im earnestly asking
The stuff I saw at "Puddlestone" as a kid! That was everything a river runner could be. Just before everyone went gooseneck and dollys...way before semi trailers or toters. In cab ice chest helmet gear bags road supplies.
In bed motor fuel cans easy up tables etc.
Back before everyone had dollys and enclosed trailers.
Please inform me how a lowered dually loses payload? We have had a lowered dually tow rig my entire life, tows better (in my opinion) and looks way fucking cooler!Well, it makes a perfectly good dually even more useless than just lowering it with a C-notch....now along with less payload, you have less bed capacity too. win win
Well said……. Remember those cool things called airbagsPlease inform me how a lowered dually loses payload? We have had a lowered dually tow rig my entire life, tows better (in my opinion) and looks way fucking cooler!
C-notched frame is as strong as a non-cut frame? Please inform me how a lowered dually loses payload? We have had a lowered dually tow rig my entire life, tows better (in my opinion) and looks way fucking cooler!

Funny how a factory built Ram frame is failing from the factory but I’ve been around more c notched trucks in my life than I can count that have never failed.C-notched frame is as strong as a non-cut frame?
Wondering the same thingso do you seal the lower part of the bed off when you do this too or are you supposed to sleep on an elevated platform at the base of the shell?
The guys that I've seen actually use them as sleepers still had a solid bottom. In the 90's, I'd glassed in plywood for ridgedity, and then turned them into speaker boxes. 4 12's in a W worked wellWondering the same thing
I think you meant…If you're having an itch to add more stuff this is a great site to shop at.
They can be used for gear or sleeping. Many of the Hot Shot guys build a little bed in the back seat of a crew cab. This would be a better way, I think. Here is a video that shows more of one.whats the reasoning for using this vs full bed cover or camper shell if not to sleep?? Im earnestly asking
About time dammit, left us hangingAnd yes they ride better than stock when done correctly. Another key factor.
