MADE MY OWN SLEEPER SHELL

just bought a cab hi shell for $200 cut 3 ft out of it closed off side windows .....

ended up doing it myself in the garage...got back window tinted and stickered LOL

Well, it makes a perfectly good dually even more useless than just lowering it with a C-notch....now along with less payload, you have less bed capacity too. win win

In cab ice chest helmet gear bags road supplies.
In bed motor fuel cans easy up tables etc.
Back before everyone had dollys and enclosed trailers.

The stuff I saw at "Puddlestone" as a kid! That was everything a river runner could be. Just before everyone went gooseneck and dollys...way before semi trailers or toters.

If it’s done right, boxed and fish plated I’ll say yes since I’ve see. Square body stock frames crack. Also remember semi trucks are using the same airbags so should easily handle anything that truck can tow.

Funny how a factory built Ram frame is failing from the factory but I’ve been around more c notched trucks in my life than I can count that have never failed.

The guys that I've seen actually use them as sleepers still had a solid bottom. In the 90's, I'd glassed in plywood for ridgedity, and then turned them into speaker boxes. 4 12's in a W worked well

They can be used for gear or sleeping. Many of the Hot Shot guys build a little bed in the back seat of a crew cab. This would be a better way, I think. Here is a video that shows more of one.

It was a popular style back in the 80’s and 90’s.. they’d run a “sleeper” with a wing on top or a full shell with a wing as well.

The sleepers looked cooler.. granted they aren’t super functional compared to a full shell.

after i painted it and put it on my truck alot of body work showed up so i got some more sanding to do......and put some white molding between bed and shell
