I dunno what I did to these guys.

I live out in the sticks, on a dead end county road 2.5 miles from the nearest stop sign.
Driveway is clearly marked. Gate is open.

A couple of years ago I ordered some tools via Amazon. Shipped by ONTRAC. I'd never heard of them til then but ok fine, get me my stuff. A week later it showed delivered. Nope. Not here. Checked all around the house, nope not here. A storm comes in and after it I go down to the gate and clear some debris from the ditch and culvert under the drive and shazam, there is my package.

Amazon had all ready shipped a replacement, got here fine. (UPS)
Two weeks ago I ordered a HDMI splitter. Again, ONTRAC.
First I get a will be late email from Amazon, then shazam it was listed as delivered. Went outside, looked around, nope, ain't here. Again, it has been raining. Cindy is leaving for work a couple of days later and spies a box under a tree near the address marker.
Yup. ONTRAC strikes again.
Soaking wet all the way through.
Called the seller and he shipped me a new one for free, good guy...who also hates ONTRAC.
I email Amazon and let them have it, and tell them my disgust with ONTRAC.
The reply I get is mostly boiler plate, but one line strikes me..
"We are proud of our shipping partners, but, unfortunately, the one you got wasn't one o our best"?
Really?
Why are you using them if that is the case.
No response.
Today.
Ordered some oil from Rocky Mountain ATV. Spent a fortune with them over the years for stuff for quads for the boys and will be buying some tires from them soon.
I was working outside and saw a newer slate gray F150 pull into the drive and stop.
Guy jumps out and drops a box under the address marker.
I yell for him to stop. He will claim he couldn't hear me but that is BS.
I walk down the hill.
Yup. ONTRAC strikes again.
I called ONTRAC corporate in Dallas and very calmly laid it out; told him I thought his company was either incompetent or hired incompetent drivers and that if it was in my power to never be strapped with using their services I would make that happen. The guy was actually responsive and asked for a phone number for a "manager" to contact me.
Called Rocky Mt. to let them know.
Guy was cool, just wanted them to know ONTRAC was not good, he told me, yours isn't the only complaint about those guys"
Then the kicker, just gotta laugh.
I get an email from Amazon Prime that my replacement TV remote (see other thread) may be late
per a message they have received from...ONTRAC.
I just blasted Amazon Customer service again via email.
Prime is worthless to me if they cannot fulfill the order as stated, why should I pay for it.
No repsonse yet.
Just send me my stuff via UPS. Even FedEx would be better.
They must be so cheap the online retailers would rather deal with the complaints than dump them.

It's all about money man. ONTRAC is so much less that they make a killing, they are all blowing fluff up your skirt.

I hate them as well.

They've made us expect perfection.
I get most all my Amazon via Amzl, usps Ups or fedex. Can't say I've seen ontrak delivery.
However, for the first time just yesterday the Amzl driver was walking up next door with our boxes. My wife happened to see him and yelled at him....lol:D

If the gate isn’t open OnTrac won’t punch in the vendor code to enter the neighborhood.

They are the worst.

At least be sure to contact Amazon to get your monthly Prime fee refunded for not delivering on time. It isn't much, but it's better than nothing.

We do quite a bit of business with Amazon. Sucks as a vendor because majority of 4 star or lower reviews are due to transit issues vs product performance [emoji107]

Still amazing how much they’ve grown but like anything it’s not without issues. The logistics of their freight are mind boggling.

Ontrac is absolutely garbage!! They are so cheap because the driver's habe to have their own vehicles and there is very little management or oversight it seems. We ordered a case of formula for our daught off Amazon and they devilered. By literally throwing it 30 feet onto the porch area from the driveway. No gate in the way. Nothing. Just lazy pieces of shit.

Someone needs to print up some Ontrac Sux bumper stickers.

I ordered some items on Prime for business. Items did not arrive one time, and updated delivery date was not given, so I called Amazon and (not too politely) told them if they continued to use Ontrac for my deliveries I am done with Prime.
Amazon gave me refund for original order and send out a replacement order free of charge. The original order and replacement order both showed up in 2 days. (both FOC)
It's a PIA...but unless everyone takes the time to complain about Ontrac, nothing will change.

H2O if I was an internet guy and had the $ I would create an ontracsucks.com website and let people share their stories.
A "Regional Manager" for ONTRAC called me this afternoon. He started with, "I'd like to talk to you about your problem yesterday". I interrupted him and said, no we need to go back 3 years or so to start at the beginning. I then ran the entire history by him, concluding with stating that I think his company is right at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to shipping, and that I was going to either get amazon to stop sending me stuff via ONTRAC or cancel my Prime membership, or cancel each order after finding in checkout that the shipper was ONTRAC.
He sighed.

Then I said, "You have the floor sir, I am listening".
He was clearly a younger guy, reasonably articulate and only once did he use profanity when he said, "this is bullshit" after hearing my story.I did not swear, I was making a serious effort to not be profane. He did his best to convince me he actually was upset about this and told me this was, "not the way his company did business, that he came from a sorter to the RM position in 6 years, and wanted me to know he was going to do everything in his power to try to see that this wouldn't happen again.
I referred him to Yelp, and this thread, and told him the risks to his blood pressure would be very real if he was serious.
I then told him that it was my belief that there was a major internal problem with his outfit, that corporate didn't care because mine was obviously not the first complaint, and that it would take a herculean effort to change it, that I doubted it was possible because the do not hire enough good people, and that changing it wasn't likely. The corporate philosophy was deeply flawed. I said that I doubted their "independent contractors" stayed with them long enough to train them properly, let alone correct unacceptable behavior when it arises.
I think he responded without thinking, and said, "Sir. you are exactly right".

He gave me his direct line and full name and told me if I had any problems to call him directly. I
I told him to expect a call Monday, since my order from amazon prime of the TV remote was already late, and that I was planning to file another complaint with Amazon then, and continue to make to case for never using them for my orders again. I told him I would call and ask him to find out where the dang thing is before I ring up the folks at Amazon again.
He sighed.
I think he is an earnest young man, caught in a crappy position. I think he has some skills in the customer service area, and I further think their is only a very, very slight chance he is going to be able to change that company. I may suggest to him that he start looking for work as ONTRAC would be a miserable place to spend a career if he is indeed looking for one in customer service.
I think there is a 50-50 chance I will be halfway down the hill one day this week, in Auburn, at best buy buying a damn remote for this TV so we will have one when we take off soon.

Interesting to see all the negative responses. When I lived in California, I used to buy parts from one supplier that always used Ontrac,, and I never had a bad experience. Always carried up to the porch, can't recall if I maybe had to sign for the stuff. I actually thought they were much better than the other carriers.
