I need a Vise i can move around, but still stout enough to do work on :hmm.

Looked around and found some material that i think will work.

Old Heavy ass Steel 22" wheel
4" Square Tubing 1/4" wall
1/4" plate steel
2" angle iron 3/16" thick and
some casters.

Came out pretty sweet... just have to grind on it and clean it up a bit, throw some paint on and i think its going to work out quite well.

I think if i do another one i want to change up the whole caster situation. Space them a little further apart to make it more stable when rollin around, and clean that whole concept up a little. Im happy with it :thumbsup

The bitch of it is is i took my leather sleaves off cuz it was gettin hot, and gave myself a little sun burn. :grumble:

Nice. :thumbsup

How portable is it? It looks like it might weigh a little bit.

Tilt it back on the wheels its pretty easy to get around...1 person putting it in the back of a truck is doable, but yes its heavy duty :skull

Looks like a nice lil side table for the patio. Nuthin' like sitting down and relaxing in a chair with somewhere to put your beer. :champagne::D

Weld a piece of angle iron to a nice piece of plate steel, clamp it in the vice and you have a nice table :thumbsup

I have a few that are very similar, vise stand and grinder stands. I filled all mine with concrete, helps a lot when you are wailing on something:D
