Need help, 540 with 2.3 Whipple.

I have a 540 with a efi 2.3 top mounted Whipple.. wont run more than 15 seconds with map sensor plugged in.. If I unplug sensor it will run until you put it on a load then dies,, any ideas..,

If you can hook up the lap top and see map sensor readings reving in neutral. See if it changes

Could it be a fueling issue? Never had the setup, but I've had both weak spark and low fuel pressure bite me in the ass when I put boost to a motor. (At least once causing spectacular, and costly, results😖) Not familiar with the EFI on marine applications, and how they react.

Look at the IAC, that and the map sensor are married. You'll need an appropriate scan tool to read values.

while it could likely be map sensor, if the boat has been sitting i would checked for clogged fuel filter or injectors

is the whipple new or has the engine been in this configuration for a while?
