I know this is probably the best place to post this. Wife has a 2018 Nissan Maxima Platinum that has a noisy seat motor, took it in to dealer to look at it, says not covered under the extended warranty which if Nissan Security Plus Gold, the best one they have. Warranty coverage says seat motor is covered, but cannot get separate from seat frame, which is not covered. I told them send me the motor and I will install myself. Says only comes with entire seat frame which is not covered, says I can get seat frame but is $5300 plus tax. Called Nissan help line @ 1-800-647-7261. They had a warranty specialist call me and called back later it is not covered. No one to transfer me to as they are the highest employee that I can talk to. Any ideas? Wondering about if you can sue them in small claims court?

If the motor is attached to the seat frame and cannot be separated, so that becomes one unit, they cannot warranty one item, but not the other one if they come attached to each other - that makes it one item.

Had a warranty issue with GMC. The dealer couldn't/wouldn't move on it. Phone calls, letters up and down the chain. Noone would discuss it. Finally got the pound sand letter and decided small claims court. It was over a leaking front main seal on a 85 GMC S15. The factory had left 2 of the bolts holding the harmonic balancer.
The dealer credit department called, looking for payment and I explained the situation. I'll pay you now, and I'll include you in the lawsuit I'm filing or I'll leave you out, and let the court decide. The dealer chose to stay out of it. The suit got served and i got no less than 5 calls from different GM divisions all wanting to help. A day later, the dealer called and said GM will pay us if you drop the suit. Went from get lost to thank you for choosing GM. This was over $1k repair, out of warranty by 10k miles.
I would have been happy if they picked up any of the bill, I would have been satisfied if anyone would have discussed this me, even if they told me to FO. Instead, I got the letter, your truck has exceeded the warranty mileage.
Sometime after this, I saw an article about a class action suit over front seal issues

Nope. You're fucked. This is how extended warranty companies make (save) their money.

Now...

If you had bought the car there, and you have had Every service done at that same dealership, and every recommended up sell done, you would be considered a great customer by the service manager, and he would be happy to good will that for you.

Have a sincere chat with him if this applies.

If not? Time for a trip to the junkyard. 👍🏼

Open a complaint with Nissan and the dealer, a lot of times they will try to work with you. When I was a GM at a Nissan store a customer tried to change his air filter, his attempt was pitiful and caused the MAS to go out. He came to me to complain that the instructions in the owners manual did not explain it well enough. This guy wanted us to pay for a new MAS and install it. I thought it was the dumbest request ever, but he complained and Nissan paid for a new MAS even though it was his fault.
