Package of Sausage Left Out Overnight...Use or Pitch?

Last night, sausage and peppers sounded good for dinner tonight. Took a package of Italian sausage out of the freezer and set it on the counter to start the defrost cycle then was supposed to put it in the fridge at bed time...

Forgot to and found it out this morning at 6am. I threw it in the fridge for the day. Was 63* in the house this morning.

Is the sausage pre-cooked? If not pre-cooked I'd pitch it. If its already been cooked I'd still eat.

i think you're safe. i just always give the ol' hand temp feel and see how warm/cold it is. if not..at least you'll get a good B.M. cleanse.

the Hot zone is above 70 degrees. if it was frozen solid it took 4-5 hours to come above 40 degrees with the ambient temp 60+ in am.. give it the sniff test..

House was 63* because I'm too cheap to heat it for the 20 minutes that I'm out of bed and on the way out the door...the MAC question had me thinking MAC and cheese therefore the degree symbol had me stumped.
