What size prop is everyone running on their 28' Magic deckboats with a 525? I know there's a bunch out there.

What up Marko. From the few friends that have them Bravo 1 24p with 525. Unless you have a full Boat or watersports a 22p. You could probably swing a labbed 26 with light load and slow to come on plane.

Thanks, just trying to get some input for a buddy here in Phx. wondering what his options were. He's got a Bravo 25 on it now so I think he's where he should be but would like to hear what everyone else is doing.👍

I could use a B1 25 that's probably the sweet spot but they aren't easy to find. Better planing would be a 24.

I run a 24 majority of the time for example. Watersports and full load a 22. 2 people a 26 labbed gets me top speed around 70-73
I would buy a 25 today if I could find a nice one. But last time I checked Jacos it was around $600. And I kinda just settled on the 24p.

In a magic? You should be running better than 72-73 with a 26?

No in my Cobra 26'. Just giving him some examples. That's a labbed 26 on the rev limiter with my 496HO. A magic with 496 is not hitting the rev with a 26.

I’ve got a 26 Bravo (cleaned up by Teague - looks like new) and a 25 3 blade mirage in the garage somewhere in Havasu. Let me know if you have any interest. These were spares and I’m using a different set up now.

If he wants to do some prop testing. I would try a bravo 1 24 and a rev 23.

My boat came with a labbed bravo 1 26. It was good for 2 people light load. Otherwise it took a while to plane.

I went thru the prop trial stage.
I bought bravo 1 22p, 24p, non labbed 26.
Rev 23 and 25
And I already had a mirage 23.
I should of bought the bravo 1 25 new back then. They are a lot more now. And I have only seen 1 used 1 for sale and it was not near me.

The few magics I’ve run in with 525 are 70-75mph at best. With the 26 they’re a pig to roll over.
What motor was in your last magic you sold?

That was a 525 wasn't it?

Last magic was a 496 with a 24 pitch. Boat ran 62 at best. And I always had full tanks and 2 adults and 2 small children.

I've used a 26 since it was new with the 525.
Tried a labbed 26 and didn't notice any difference...
Never had a problem with coming on plane but I never had a boat full of people either.

I run a 24 in my Magic. I have a 625. It pops up pretty quick. Takes longer with a 26 of course and I never run more than 3/4 throttle so top speed I don’t care about. I cruise at 50-60 just above mid throttle. Wind is obnoxious in a Magic above 70
