Does that street vendor have a business license and pay taxes on that business income?

I wouldn't want any one of the "street vendor community" walking around my streets either. Although I think I would have found slightly more creative ways to get them to go away.

I don't think the police do anything about pushcart vendors anymore. Helados, Tamales, candy, fruit. etc. There's pop up vendors all over the place. They erect the easy up, set up a propane stove and sell tacos wherever. Its totally third world.

All I kept thinking when she was screaming about property values was, "she's not wrong".

Wondering how long it would take for this to get posted.

I'll be honest, I don't want street vendors here, they are all over LA and LA looks like shit, I don't want my city looking like LA.

Too bad it got physical. Would really liked to have seen the response if it was only verbal racist remarks like the “free speech” we are seeing on college campuses

I believe riverside county department of environmental health was conducting raids on the carts and stands. They were dumping the product out if they didn’t hold a license

Suicide of the West...
I’d lean towards the demise. 😁. I remember driving down Slauson 20yrs ago shaking my head at all the food/misc EZ ups. Who knew that would end up going State wide. Store fronts can’t compete with zero overhead/taxes/permits. It’s BS.

Yeah, its pretty nice that Simi PD doesn't let that shit slide here. I'm sure @Big B Hova loved trolling the community FB pages about this though. lol!

They are starting to with food trucks
I'm ok with food trucks, if they stay in the truck. Its when they start to spill onto the sidewalk and parking lots is when its a real issue. The truck at least are supposed to have county and city business licenses and permits and is an established program. Unlike the LA sidewalk kitchens and EZ-Up restaurants that are everywhere on the other side of the hill.

The trucks also have to return to a Commissary each night and buy food through them. Was kicking around the idea of buying a few to park at job sites in the fire zones.

Yeah, I'm opposite, I don't even want the food trucks setting up shop

Keep them mobile, like an ice cream truck. Just play mariachi music. Tamales, the Mexican power bar!

Where I grew up in Pasadena there used to be a business that leased out small pickup sized trucks that had a shell like deal on the back, in quilted metal sheeting.

They has a hot side and a cold side and section with ice for drinks. They did jobsite stops. Not quite a food truck as the food was all premade. Cold sandwiches, eggs, burritos, chips. I can't find a pic of these online.

I wanna say it was John's Food Trucks, but i was just a kid. This would have been in the 70's.

I’m against all food trucks and even roach coaches. They create trash and make the area look like trash. They take business away from the mom and pop brick and mortar restaurants. They started setting up shop in Riverside at night last year. Looks like fucking TJ. I’m 100% against all of them no mater what they sell. The ice cream man I can live with but not the mango on a stick fruit guy pushing a cart or the guy selling flower 24/7 in the middle of the road. Hard enough just keeping the neighborhood decent with all the shitty rentals here and there.

Food trucks are good in my book at job sites, parties and events (depending on the event) I don't have issues with food trucks at HS sporting events as long as they are giving a percentage back to the athletic program

The big job sites can empty a truck in a day. Been on a few like that. They sell everything they have each day. No need to move. My thoughts were to have a big trailer or truck to stop by and stock them with. But I guess that won't fly. They need to return to the commissary.
Those big sites leaving is a pain in the ass to get lunch.

I don’t allow them on my job sites. If the workers didn’t leave food crap and wrappers all over the place it might be different but that will never stop.

f all of that TJ shit!!!

Before I bought my forever home, I checked all the laws and codes and how they were enforced regarding this very subject, among a few other issues that plagues socal and many lib cities/states.

I watched socal spill into the depths of hell for the last 50 years.

...and get off my lawn.

10 + years ago we had a new ice cream truck come to our neighborhood. It was a smaller van similar to your older local postal office truck. Thing had a tripped out paint job, slammed on 20's and was blasting Led Zeppelin over his system. Was the coolest thing I had seen in years. He was only around for about 3 months...not sure what became of him but it still gives me hope...

San Bernardino just did a food cart raid just recently, I believe in Highland. County Sheriff, the health dept and someone else showed up in force (maybe ICE) and hauled everything and everyone off. It was epic.
There's a whole row of them down by the casino off highland.

As long as the tacos are good I’m fine. Bet the cops do something about the bad ones though 🤷‍♂️

The popo push that shit off to the Health dept and food permits - Zero law enforcement !

There was a lot of that going on in San Diego, Hot dog carts all the same colors on every corner pushing out the legal guys. They show up after 6 pm and work late when the bars close

took over a year to get any traction. You’d think if they didn’t have a food card or a city business lic posted on the cart and a cop walked by he would ask for it then issue a notice to appear summons

In front of Target on Orange Show road is pretty nuts. But ain't nobody's property value being driven down in that area.

City of Victorville we do not allow street vending except in a couple designated areas. Of course, the areas are not to their liking. Code Enforcement will show up and give 1 hr to vacate. If they have not vacated upon returning, they impound the flowers, oranges, bananas or whatever else they're selling. To vend in the designated areas, one must have a city Business Lic, certificate of vehicle/trailer ins, certificated of General Business Liability Ins and a County food handlers permit. Upon verification of all that they are issued a permit and must stay in the designated area. Our Code force has 2 units designated to street vending enforcement. They pop up every day regardless. Citations are ignored.
Our Code Enforcement Director says the ones selling flowers are working for the drug cartels. They work off their debt for getting over the border.
This 3rd world shit burns me up for all the reasons others have mentioned above.

I was just at the Home Depot at sierra lakes in fontana yesterday, and there is a lady that sets up her tamale station in the parking lot. I’ve seen her there before. She’s got a sign, and a couple other chicas to help her. Right next to a farmers brothers. Ironically, one of my bros owned two farmers brothers in simi valley. People would set up taco carts on the sidewalk in front of his business, and the patrons would use his parking lot to go to the taco carts. He’d call EHS all the time, and not a damn thing would happen, other than the inspectors would come into his building and write him up on shit.

Every time I see a cart, the stationary ez-up or the umbrellas selling fruit, my first thought is where do they crap and wash up. Some, maybe a business is close. Others, I guarantee it is the closest bush. No thanks

Construction coffee truck service evolving, says Calgary caterer

Something like this would do well in the rebuilding areas of the fire zones. I assume way easier to get permits and licenses for and easier to park and drive around. Plus you can spend your days in Malibu and the Palisades. LOL
