Are all the other bolts loose? If not they all should be loose until you get all the bolts started.
Yes and I even took them out and tried starting that one first. Now the bolts to the turbo are not loose.

Washed and detailed my F350 to put it up for sale. My 25 HO will be here next month.

That's much easier than building these stupid things.

Well we went to fire her up. We checked a few things, had a ground i missed, found a fuel leak on a hose(freaking 3rd time there. I hate that hose). Loaded tune in and went to fire it. Uh oh! Sounds fine on the crank over. Just not getting fuel. However, that hose tells me the driver side rail is pressurized enough to send fuel out the return. So th passenger side is feeding the driver side.

I had to get to dinner so I had to let it be. But I did some research and have some ideas. I love the duramax forum. Not as much as this one, but it's insanely informative.

Hopefully I have good news tomorrow. But, no knock or bang or clank on the crank. Sounds smooth. So that makes me happy. The rest we can figure out.

Been there done that on my LBZ at 200k miles. Head gaskets, studs, dual fueler & ppe exhaust. It was fun & a learning experience but never again.

I’m asking 67.5 for my truck with 90k miles and have had 6 guys hit me up tonight within hours of listing it and a dude who wants to see it on the 1st.

Better to love’em & leave’em.

It’s a lot of work. Most techs wouldn’t believe normal dudes can do it correctly. Mine ran like a beast afterwards. Put another 20k on her and ordered my F350. Now I’m on my 2nd F350 on the way.

That being said did you get the sensor on the back side of the passenger fuel rail plugged in?

I would un plug mine to prime the oil system on my LBZ after oil changes and it sounds just like that. No fuel.

I had taped off all sensors. But I'll double check tomorrow. Thanks! I read these lmls require a lot of return pressure. I had the return line completely out. So it lost all pressure. Hoping that's my culprit. I'll check crank sensor on my scanner too.

Painting trim...on NYE no less. Daughter moved into the "preschool" project turned "casita"...now nicknamed the "kid cave". This was her room in the house, and was pink and white. Covered the pink and painted the trim black, going comic book theme. Boys will each have their own room now, and daughter her own 900sqft apartment.

Sliding door rollers.

Normally, one should be able to lift the door off the tracks, lay it on it's side and change the rollers....I'm not that lucky. I don't know if the header has sagged or what, but the door can't come out. It has to be disassembled in place....each side piece comes off, then the top piece slides out, then the glass can be lifted out with the bottom piece stuck to it. Manhandling a 4x7' piece of glass and watching it bend is kinda nerve wracking.

I figured they were full of dog hair or something since I just did this 3 years ago, but the shit bearings had all come apart. Got lucky that HD was open today....was able to buy a few different things they had and cobble something together.

Went to put the tools away and walk back in the door and not thinking, put the previously required level of ass into it and about sent it through the side of the fucking house....lol. Got lucky again. It'll take some getting used to now that it rolls again.

What symptoms?
It's an early 5.3, so it's had the piston clatter when cold since we bought it. The other day I'd backed it up to unload some stuff, and with it idling, I could hear a faint tapping in the pan. Not full on knocking, but definitely rod noise.

I have a light knock on cold start on my 5.3. Goes away in about 30 seconds. Only have 90k on it.

I don't know for sure what years, I just know "earlies". One of my friends was a GM dealer tech for years. He, and a few others I've met, say that the early motors were GM's first foray into shorter skirt pistons. Under warranty, the fix was to put in different pistons...and subsequently lose a couple mpg. My wife's has had the cold start rattle, kind of what you describe, since we bought it. It had 140k on it then. It now has 260k on the clock, and from what I found today, has never had the oil pan off

Last year the 25 year old Kitchen faucet finally tapped out.
I went into the Do It Center and picked up a similar faucet,, $50.

The Spout already rusted through.
"Stainless Steel Finish" doesn't mean it's stainless steel.

Just changed it out with a Pfister $65.

Told my grand son, 6 at the time, that I'd put together a mini bike for him if he wanted. Then I had to show him what one was and being 6 at the time he loved them. Had an old B&S 3hp engine off an old edger so I started with that. Little work on it, milled the head, ported the block, high pressure valve springs, off set crank key, de burred the block inside and out. Stuff he'll never notice but it was fun. Told him stories about my friends having Taco's, I never had one, and how we'd ride them from Bean Pot Hill to the dam and back on the road along the parker strip, rode in the Keys while they were being dug (that was pretty cool). He like the stories.

Decided on the Frijole model rather than the traditional 22/44...should have gone with one of those. The new Taco builder discontinued the Frijole but I found an unbuilt original roller.

Didn't like the way the B&S fit in the frame so I picked a Predator 3 hp. Had to pick one up in Havasu since you can't buy them in CA any longer at least where we are. Of course it didn't fit the frame either so I started tearing off the stock shit to make it work. Fab'd up a little header and tried to tuck it in so he, and the grand daughters won't burn their leg. Gonna wrap it when I'm done. Little intake manifold too. It's been fun tinkering on it off and on over the last year. Recently wife jokingly said 'I find it hard to believe you made a living building boats and it's taken so long to put a mini bike together'. haha
Waiting on the wheels now that a friend is powder painting.

She has a point, it would have been so much easier to buy a complete kit or running bike but, I still like building shit.

He also wants a 16 Tahiti, so there's that.

Sorry for the oily Lens. The last thing I was thinking about was cleaning my lens. Lol

I got it fired! It's running and buttoned up now. I'm getting MAP sensor code. Only code I'm getting. Wires look okay. I did break the clip but it's still connected so not sure. Anyway. I ordered a new sensor and pig tail. Luckily it's that sensor on top of the white tube. Couldn't be any easier to work on and get to.

Now what was the problem that plagued me for days? A loose injector fuel fitting on one injector. Not sure how i missed it. But I did. Fixed some hoses and a few other little things I caught during those few days.

Once we get that sensor wire we should be good. Rail pressure looks good. Oil pressure looks good. Sounds healthy. Even with a bad map she runs hard. Time to finish her up.

Rolled some new std. bearings in it. Rod journals looked really good, and the wear surface on the bearings didn't look too bad...but the back sides were looking pretty copper, and the tangs were starting to slip. Sounds much better now.

Down towards the bottom of the page there are some pics of the bearings

DTC cleared got the map going. It's interesting. I think these tunes are just less aggressive or the turbo lag is more prevalent. It's definitely faster, but i feel like it throws me back less aggressively. It is level 1of 5. Maybe I'll load 3 in. Lol. I'm afraid of 5 for the time being. Lol

Is "1" a tow tune, or mileage? Could be it pulls a little injector lead time out for hauling, or for a mileage tune they could've added a little timing, and narrowed the pulse width? Both effect how the turbo responds.

Hell, it's a runner. Always a plus 👍

It's a tow tune. That's kind of what I suspect also.
