Im actually closer to 21st and San Antonio. Take 21st, go N. on Albright 2nd street is juliet....Only been in the area since Jan. Came from Rancho (Vineyard and foothill) and like it A LOT more in this area!

Right around the corner from me, couple of buddies grew up on Albright, tough streets back then, LOL

You think? Nicer part of town no doubt.

I buzz your house a couple times a week to or from the shop.

I lived off 23rd and San Antonio for 10 years on Emerson, between Coolcrest and O'Malley. Moved in in my mid 20's, I still miss that house and time. Good times. :)

I am off Banyan and Sapphire now, across the wash from you.

I love the houses where you are now. We were looking up there for months and couldn't find anything that suited our needs. The property sizes are amazing in that area. So now I have a place to park my car and look at the xmas lights on thoroughbred right? :D jk

We did it late December, and then mid Dec.

This year, we are thinking first week of Dec. Too many people, hoping for less traffic.

We were in the backyard until 3A last year.

Dueling firepits and mischief in the backyard.

I just got done tearing up a buncha shit in my yard, hoping to have it settled a bit by that time, we will have a bunch more space.

This year I think we are even planning on our own hard cider.

Havasu Hank and Budman and families showed up. We could do a RDP deal too. We have a lot of boardmembers up in this area.

Dec 5th or 12th. Likely the 5th, because of the issue of crowds. You ought to have enough time to make that happen pal.

I have been skiing the mountain my whole life.. I think even on the weekend on a big dump dump I can find pow 3 days later...I have come home early from Utah to ski badly.
If you know the Mt it we give up some great turns.

Baldy can definitely be Epic after a big dump.
If you have the freedom to stop everything your doing and get there you can be in for an entire day of nothing but first tracks.
One of the few places I wear the leashes just in case one comes off. Sundance in Utah is the other.
Boarding is fun...but slamming on the "Chubbies" is hard to beat sometimes to. Its all good.

How does baldy work as a business? I always hear how great it is but they don't get the most snow. How do they afford to keep up operations on dry years?

The owners have other ventures as well, they have the restaurant and bar, camp sites, lift passes and they own the water rights, that's where the BIG $$$$ is!!

They wish they had the water rights...if they did, they would be making snow all over the mountain.

Dept of Forestry owns the land and the rights the last I heard. I guess things have changed in the last couple years. Ole and Ron are stoked then.

I've never had fun baldy. Some do say it's the best place to go after a dump but the same people also say you have a better chance at winning the lottery than having a perfect day there ie no 30mph winds ice ect ect. If you're into checking out new places on the cheap, look into the mountain collective pass. I bought it last year and it was well worth it.

You have to time it well.
If the weatherman says its gonna dump bigtime snow and Baldy already has a decent base and you want to see for yourself what the other peeps are talking about then try and catch the day when the storm starts to break up and it clears out of the area.
You see whats it all about loud and clear!

You gotta be ready is all.

X2 keep the high speed lifts out...Even on the big days I will take the lines over any big Mt lines. Now just if we could get a crap lift on the back side.

My Akita walking the fence line in the backyard.
Think snow!

View attachment 435774

Great pic. I had an Akita, that and my black mouth cur was the best dogs I've had. My Akita, never picked a fight but when those unfortunate times of it happening always ended it. Never barked unless he meant it. When he did and if you were a stranger best to get off the property or it probably will get ugly. Amazing strength and love the snow.

Sorry to get off subject.

I think they make a fortune off of the tubing park. It the first thing they use their snow making to open up. I usually ski to about noon. There is always a steady stream of people coming up the lift in tennis shoes and sweat shirts. To let the little ones tube, Mom and Dad (and anyone else with them) need to buy a $25 lift ticket.

Looks like the end of that video was on the face of Thunder that you can see from Baldy? Mt. Waterman can be another great spot after a dump if you can get to it. Great tree skiing. Baldy is epic right after a solid snowfall, I grew up skiing at Taos and have had good days at Baldy and Waterman that rival the best days at Taos.
