Something different. Above ground pond.

Had an old horse watering tank, about 300 gallons, we weren’t using because they didn’t drink enough and the water would foul out. Turned it into a pond. Got a little slider turtle too. That’s what the rock is for. Still too skittish for pics though. UV light in the fountain keeps it crystal clear. Cost me $300 including plants and livestock for a bit of zen.

Neighbors built a nice goldfish pond, I'm not sure what they enjoy most, watching the fish or watching the great white snowy egret eat their fish ??
At least if the prick is eating their gold fish, he's not eating all my lizards.

They seem to shy away from it being above ground plus cats and dogs are out there.

The house I just moved into has a pretty cool pond. multi level. I went and bought 40-50 feeder gold fish for it and keep feeding them. I am going to have some sushi if when the food shortage hits. Funny about the egrets. The guy who had it before had coy in it and the god damn terradactle came down and ate his coy.

We had one for years , had Aquatic Plants , Koi , Goldfish , Turtles a single Largemouth Bass and even a catfish and few crayfish Made with an 800 gal Galvanized stock tank , huge home made "earth filter" Very peacefull to watch and listen to (aerator)

Hanging tough. System is going on 7 years and had a few old growth deaths but they seem to have stopped for now. If it crashes, I’m going predator fish.

Put it somewhere that is in shade during the hottest part of the day and goldfish not koi and it may do alright. Definitely need a UV filter in the heat or you’ll make green pea soup.

can you show or explain your ultraviolet light? I have had a 6 foot stock buried ground level for years. I have about 20 goldfish in it that survive on their own. I think they eat bugs and allege. The water in mine is nasty especially in the summer, in the winter, if the tank isn't frozen the water clears.
