Also a great song to listen to on the way to school. Blared this on my 8 track while in high school in 72.
or this one, released in '82

Blackmore and the band were the first concert I ever went to...Long Beach Auditorium...20NOV1974. Ticket cost $6.25 plus .25 city tax
We sat in 7 F 6, close to right side speaker stack, so my right side hearing is slightly worse than my left

Ha Ha! That’s sweet.
My first concert was there too. Faces with Rod Stewart. Then the Doobie Brothers. Both in 73 or 74. Your memory is much better than mine. Don’t remember what the tickets cost or where we sat.

sometimes you dont need vocals

Hah, you nailed it. Avalon by Roxy Music is highlighted by a great female vocal, but Frampton's version just works. Outstanding.

And it's funny, because ever since I stumbled on it a couple of weeks back, I keep playing his Harrison cover too. Once again, Frampton's version just flows...

Man, in 1980 if anybody would have said The Cure would still be killing it 40+ years later - I would have taken that bet. But, they are.
