Dude. I’ve got boxes of CD’s. Like at least a couple hundred.
I’ve gathered the vinyl is were it’s at. 🤘

I noticed several missing CD's under the "F" section - I'm guessing they snatched up the Foo Fighters. Oh well, still great deal and they are working on selling vinyl next and I have first dibs!

I already had a fair amount of them but they are all fuccered up from river trips, so I'm glad to get replacements.

Today was a great day.

So I got home and the CD player I bought a couple of weeks back was acting weird. An oldschool 90's Onkyo I got for $18 that normally sells for about $200. A decent quality unit with dual DAC's. Last week a seller showed me his oldschool Sony CD player that cost him $500... and the Onkyo has the same laser/specs. But the Sony unit is awesome, I love the oldschool wood sides/boxes on the black face equipment.

So I get on FB Marketplace and under "suggestions for me" I see an audiophile quality Onkyo "Super Audio CD" player for $129, with the remote and its original box/packaging. ($164 with FB fees, tax and shipping)

I don't own any Super Audio CD's, lol. Think Beta vs. VHS kind of deal, the SACD's never really took off, but the equipment built to play them was/is phenomenal.

ANY Super Audio CD player is $$$, and a quick looksy confirms the unit typically sells between $500-$800. In fact I saw the unit listed by the same seller 3 months ago at $400.

I thought WTF, it must be a scam.

But then again maybe not...

...and I wasn't going to wait around to find out...so I bought it!

Then I started second guessing the purchase, but I got an email saying the seller has boxed it and dropped it off for shipping. Fingers crossed.

Then I revisited the $18 Onkyo and I guessed it was having some type of memory problem. it kept spitting the CD's out and wouldn't play them. So to clear the memory, I unplugged it, let a minute pass and plugged it back in, and voila, it's been working great for the past several hours.

My daughter is into Sonic Youth and they have some good stuff, but they kill this remake of the Carpenters Superstar. There's a whole album of Carpenter covers by varios artists, but this is the best cover.

Velvet Underground. The vid is a mashup of Edie Sedgewick...the same "Edie" The Cult sang about...

Give it a couple of listens, it's a catchy tune and you understand why all the hoopla about Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground

Lol....funny ..was just thinking the other day, I need to get rid of all my fucking CDs...I probably have like 250 or more. I do miss the good ole days of just popping in a CD and actually listening to the whole thing.

That's pretty funny.

Wifey saw the ad on FB Marketplace - a suggested ad (and people whine about those, lol?), a couple about our age up in Chase Ranch by Centennial HS. They are bailing Cali and the dude had everything ripped onto his ipod and they didn't want to lug them around. There's tons of great deals out there, you just need to be in the right place, at the right time.

You can "rip" (copy) them onto your computer hard drive and then sell them. There's a free program called Music Bee, it has a CD ripper and you save the files in FLAC format - FLAC is the equivalent of CD quality sound. Sound complicated, but its's simple.

That's what I am doing, ripping all CD's onto a couple of big ass hard drives, that way my lazy ass doesn't need to load them. Just clickity click from the computer.

Speaking of the Carpenters - if you grew up in the 70's, I'm pretty sure you'll remember this commercial...

I did mine a while back though. I don't think mine are in FLAC format though.
