I want to get a good "all around" grease for toyhauler bearings, boat, RzR and everything else. What do you all use?

1. Lucas G3 Racing Grease

2. Marine Grease

3. Lucas X-TRA Heavy Duty Grease

4. Red 'N' Tacky Grease

I'm partial to red and tacky. I'm going to service the bearings on the Griz and use the marine grease. The pump and everything on my truck has red in it.

I thought the red and tacky nut swinger lube gave you a rash?

Mobil 1 synth red grease.

I use that in anything that does not require water proof grease.

G3 is a bad ass grease. But my recommendation would be to use the Lucas marine grease. if you were to try both you would see similar performance and the marine is cheaper. If anyone is interested I will post tech data sheets for all and you can compare them all.

You could always go with the grease Riverbound found in the exhaust fan. It's what Brown prefers.

So I head out to Needles a few weeks ago. Replace all the bearings and races on the trailer prior to leaving. I end up stopping at the rest stop past Dagget and have a look at the trailer. Somewhere on the road I kicked a bearing buddy off. Didn't have an extra so I figured Id just fix it when or if I got there. Mind you there was no slung grease on the wheel so I figured it must have just came off in the last mile or two. Onward to Needles, get there and I look at the wheel expecting to find slung grease on the wheel and on the side of the trailer or boat... Nothing! not one drop of grease. Still completely surrounding the castle nut and washer. It never broke down and never came out. I have been using this for a couple years now on mine and customers equipment. I will forever use this grease because it is the best I've use so far. Great product!!!

Wow! Any idea what the SPF is on the red and tacky? Looks like it will get here before my RDP hat so I'll have to use that to keep the sun off my bald ass head! :D
Kidding, I've got a chance to see a little of all Ol Dave has on his plate, and two weeks seems like a miracle that he could juggle all that, and take care of Stacy which is really the best priority.

No, it seems like about a year ago:D, there was this left over RDP swag sale. I bought this hat that I thought I couldn't live without. Well looks like I was wrong. Lol.

Although, a cool Lucas hat would be a nice kicker for a first pallet order:cool.

I am totally kidding, Dave take yer time, I've already lost all my hair so it's not like we are hurrying to save anything. Lol

Hey, where's matt on this one? He (we all) run a grease called Red Eye out here in all of our stuff, maybe he will chime in and give the professional particulars on it.

Post up the technical data. I have never heard of it. Would be interesting to see how it compares.

In a past life, I owned a couple car dealerships. As an owner, all you get to deal with is the bad situations. Free advice is worth exactly what you pay for it, but here is what I have experienced. With the rare exception of the harshest situations, any of the listed products will work just fine. The main problem is not the grease used, but how it is used. Packing bearings correctly is not brain surgery but done correctly, is a dirty and tedious job. More important than the grease, is doing it right. 1, use a bearing packing tool, 2, do it annually or at least every two years, and 3, if you use bearing buddies, don't fill them so much as to blow the seal out. Improper packing, dirt and other contaminants are much more critical than which of these products you use.

Please, no jokes about blowing seals.

P.S. Notice the dropping point of Lucas Marine grease is 550 degrees, red and tacky is 540 degrees. If your bearings are 540 degrees let alone 550 degrees, the grease is your last problem......

I think i missed the boat on this one havnt been on in a while. I like to use red eye it seems to be a grease thats good for everything it is high temp, extreme pressure grease with a extremly high water washout. I Stumbled across this grease while looking for something to stay in a main pins in a long reach excavator that were submerged under water while our operators were cleaning out ponds . I also found it to work best in our breakers on our excavators while breaking rock, demo on bridges etc thats a very high heat high impact application . I personally use it in my boat trailer because its high temp high water wash out and it doesnt seem to sling all over like marine grease when hot! Thats just my experience with red eye and it has never failed me!

Anyone ever used the marine grease in sand rail cv's? I'm getting the rail ready for Glamis and if this grease does what it says it sounds ideal for the cv's . . .

Ok. I have started using Lucas marine grease on everything. Now I go to Parker to work on the boat trailer and change oil bath bearings to grease. For the life of me I can't find any marine grease in Parker. I guess the Lucas rep in the area just don't care........
