So you guys remember before we left Stacy got a flat.. Well while I was down in Mexico I had Nick over at Tireman put new tires & wheels on the car. From there it went to the Chevy dealership for some warranty work and an oil change then to my house..

Gotta love when construction is booming in Havasu.. lol

Could be worse - I had a guy that had an issue with me years ago. We would get flats from nails on our BMW that had run flat tires. The bad news is they can't plug run flat tires, you need a new tire every time.

After the third one in a month or two I realized this guy was leaving nails under the tire in the driveway at night. I never knew his name but knew who he was when he made a game of it leaving signs on our tree and stuff like that. Bummed I never was able to catch him - the cops seemed to try pretty hard also and even with the pictures of him and everything we were never able to catch him.

The good news is I found a shady tire repair place that would plug them after I spent $350 for the first new tire...

We moved away a few months after it started.

I bought a set of Momo wheels for my mini cooper and they came with run flats. They ride like balls. This reminds me I gotta swap em out.

I’d find a new tire guy if my new tires looked like that! Guess he’s not the tire cleaning guy?

Frank ran it through some mud on the way home. Nick at Tireman is awesome! Best kept secret in Havasu as far as tires and rims go.
I’ve been here for one minute and

it’s already being taken care of.. pic of the mud for the negative types.

Same with me - I have no problem plugging them, however the manufacture says they cant be plugged so many tire stores won't plug them (ie Discount Tire etc) I have found independent tire stores will.

Thats not mud, he just didn’t clean the sidewall from the lube used to get the tire on.

Not a big deal, it will be taken care of when you get the car detailed.

Looks good. Now you need to lower it a couple inches. :)

Discount will find any excuse not to plug a tire these days.
Truth! Just buy another road hazard certificate, what are they up to these days $40? The best is when they say they can’t fix it and then don’t have the same tire to replace it with.

And then tell you the tires are too worn to replace just one..

It is impossible he went through mud that got to the bead of the tire and yet the rim is perfectly clean. I've see that 1000 times, the guy that mounted the tires didn't clean up his mess after slathering the tire beads with soapy water or whatever lubrication they used to mount the tires.

It is the same color as the mud because the wet soapy residue attracted dirt off the road before it dried.

Don't listen to Joe, buy one for the garage and for the truck.

I was gonna pick a few of these up and noticed that they also have one for trucks. The reviews for the truck version seem to indicate that it's for large equipment like a semi or farm equipment. Any idea which version is best for a full size truck and a Rubicon with large tires?

Exactly. Clean rim, dirty beads, clean sidewalls, dirty tread and truck.

Must have been Lee Harvey Oswald magic mud.

Or someone draining their pool and about a half inch of water on a dirty street and Lee Harvey centrifugal mud.. lol

That would defy the laws of physics there Lee Harvey River Dave. Unless this mud you speak of was on a grassy knoll.

I have this exact kit. I have plugged 100's of tires over the years including sidewalls in an tight spot and never had one fail.

Have a kit in every car we own and the Rhino at the river.

What tires did you put on it? I just put a new set on the wife's Caddy, went with Falken Wildpeak HT's. I made sure to get the XL load rating since these are not light vehicles and I want to say with the original Bridgestone's on it (original to me at least) they only had about 2k or less of load rating. A little too close for my comfort if I am pulling a trailer at all.

That is a sure fire Tire Separation Kit right there.

Never got the chance to use it on my Michelin tires on the dually as they started separating on their own at 8k miles.

They will tell you it is “not safe”. The answer is on the building. They are Discount Tire, not Discount Patch :)

I had my tires rotated there a few months ago. When I picked up my truck they handed me a lugnut and broken stud and said I needed a new one because it was cross threaded from whoever took off tires last. I said that’s funny, you guys were the last ones. After some back and forth they finally agreed to pay for a new stud to be put on at a shop down the street.
