So my 2011 RZR XP got in a wreck (I was a passenger not the driver)

It's got a smashed cage, trashed driver side A-arms, bent passenger rear axle, trashed hood and front plastics, and driver side bedside is shattered. It still runs fine, no smoke and has about 8-900miles on it.

I'm not sure what to do with it. Probably going to cost a bunch of $$$ to fix, but probably not worth much as is. What would you do?
Anyone dealt with fixing a wrecked RZR?

Do you have insurance on it? You can usually find cheap stock parts.

I would hand the keys over to the driver and say "guess what? It's yours!.... and you're buying me a new one" ;)

Get on the rzr forums and find some parts someone took off a stock machine to build a race car. Shouldn't be that expensive.

You might look around on rzrforums.net, you might be able to find some suspension parts there at a reasonable price.

Time for an aftermarket cage, new axle. and you can probably find used stock suspension parts pretty easily.

Queen Racing in Havasu has a lot of spare stock parts that may help.

I'd turn it into a machine. Hopefully the driver steps up and pays for it but at the end of the day accidents happen and everyone is ok which is what's important.

I would follow the advice here and fix it. You won't get much parting it out, might as well.

I'm assuming you could get insurance if you wrecked it, or no? Of course prior to the accident.

RZR frames are known to be weak. With that much damage, I am guessing your frame may be bent. If so, I think you are best off parting it out at this point. If the frame checks out good, just buy yourself a new RZR, put this one on the backburner as a project, and score cheap parts when you find them.

There it is.
Find take-offs and get to wrenching.

I wrecked my Sportsman 500 years ago and had to replace frame, a arms and some other parts. Parts alone were about a grand and I did all the work.

Before you start buying used take off parts i would write a real thorough estimate of all the parts that need replacing.

I bet the local dealer would write up an estimate for free, then youd have something to go on for parts. Start looking for used parts to get an idea what you are up against. It doesnt take long to get to half the value of the RZR if you have to buy a few new parts plus all the take offs.

If it ends up being way too much, im sure someone would buy it of craigslist thinking they could rebuild it on the cheap. Let them make the mistake you did the homework on.

Good luck what ever you do.

Tear it down to the bare frame identify whats bent. Throw all bent parts in a pile and start shopping for good used parts and get to building.

Wish I had the time and know how to do that.

Buy a arctic cat and leave that one in the dumpster ! Ha ha . Sorry had to. If your going to keep it seriously I would build it up with aftermarket stuff . Polaris has a great drive train so its worth putting in a upgraded frame . Good luck

We have one of those, slow and cheaply built. Rides nice though ;)

Put mine on craigslist. There are plenty of flippers out there. Had a buyer in 2 days. Thought of fixing it but no time or space to do the work.

b:boobeyes:m first problem already solved for you, that is money in the bank.

the A-arms and rear axle can be replaced too. My .02 would be to start making some phone calls to the high volume places that do builds. they usually just throw take off parts in a pile. I would be happy to help if you would like, drop me a pm.

worry about the plastics last, lots of these type of incidents occur and the unit itself in most cases survives just fine. Good luck, keep us posted.

2000.995 :)

Id put it on CL for $3000 or so under what decent similar RZRs are going for. Who knows.

My guess is there is hidden damage and getting waist deep in a repair will eat you alive. I still say let a dealer give you a comprehensive estimate with a parts list as a starting point. That should be free. There is no shortage of stock take-off parts like cages seats arms etc, its the other parts you may have to buy from Polaris that will be costly.

Forget the site that auctions off wrecked RZR's. You would be surprised how much they go for. If this has a clean title llist it on CL for $6K OBO. My 800 was in a lot worse condition and I started at $4o00 and was flooded with interest as I had the clean title. Sold it in 2 days.

For all vehicle owners. Full coverage insurance is not that much more. After I lost my 64 El Camino in 1981 from some coke head I have insured everything I own. Believe me it will pay for itself once you get fucked by some low life you will understand.
