Have seen a lot of fires in the SCV growing up. This one is the biggest one I have seen. Incredible.Oh yea I know it's crazy! Reminds of back in I think 09 when we had the fires in Steve Ranch that burned for days.
Growing up in this town I don't recall this many fires when I was a kid. Crazy

Maybe I'm just having a memory block... I just can't remember anything this crazy
I grew up at the top of Seco in the Mountainview track and it seemed like there was a decent fires for a few summers in a row back in the late 90's early 00's but nothing this bad
Looked abandoned, i only seen a few trailers near the back area, those are monthly sites for work campers. Oddly enough i didnt see any strike teams defending it, they were at Shambala. Im sure your friend was long gone before this afternoon.
Yeah one of those trailers is his it's all he has and has worked hard for it,hope it makes it, he's staying in Palmdale because of the evacuation
He doesn't own a truck so he had to just leave his 5th wheel there in place.
Just saw its the worse fire in Ca in 33 years per a friend on FB that's crazy and it's only 10% contained.
My wife just told me the updated burn area is now at 52 square miles. Its hard to comprehend because at the initial site where it started off the freeway had this long expance of santa clara river bottom to cross before it got in the foothills. I guess we all knew this might happen, giant fire cause it was so dry.
All we need now is an earthquake.......Welcome to Socal, if it aint burning, flooding or rioting, its shaking.
My aunt and uncle are off poppy meadow (between Soledad and sand canyon) and so far that whole community is ok. They are nervous thoughThis is fucked. I'm stuck in Philadelphia & my house is in the thick of this between Sand Canyon & Soledad, right next to the 14.

My aunt is suppose to let me know of anything changes in their situation. I'll let you know if she says anything. Was able to reach my GF's daughter & she said it was quiet at the house. My house is on the next street up Soledad from Poppy Meadow, Raquel.

Waiting for light to hear the latest news on this terrible fire.

Did you make it in to work? Thinking about working from home today
405 is not affected. The traffic was light South of the 14 freeway on the 5. I think many that live in the Antelope Valley decided to stay home today and not battle the freeway and possible closures later this afternoon.
Well yes I know I'm just concerned if they shut the 14 down again. I'm on 405 now traffic heavy
Air attack shut down because of Drones....Who in thier right mind is flying a drone in the burn area. So no tankers, great.
didn't this happen last year during a fire?
