Relocating to Tucson area soon

I have accepted a job with Raytheon missile systems. They are offering me an awesome relocation package including all sellers fees, moving expenses, and temp housing. Plus I got a good salary and hefty signing bonus. My wife and I have decided to give it a whirl.

Will be posting my boat up for sale soon. I need to figure out what its worth. Perhaps 2ff style lol.
I may possibly sell my truck too once the boat sells and get something 4x4 to explore the desert.

Will suck to leave Havasu, cause we really love it there, but its an opportunity to get a really nice home for much less money and be close to work again. I couldn't do that in San Diego. We will still come visit Havasu though We get good deals at Havasu Dunes and London Bridge resort with our timeshare.

Why sell the boat? There are people who go to Havasu from Tucson.

My wife and I talked about how much it takes to store, maintain, insure, fill with gas, launch and retrieve, wipe down etc...
Then we usually just go south and find a cove and drop anchor. Then float on rafts all day lol.
It would be so much easier to just grab a beer and jump in the pool.
We've gotten so many damn flat tires on the trailer while towing the boat, and AZ AAA sucks.
We decided to go to some more exotic destinations on vacation instead. Especially since Tucson has an airport.

No, we are just getting started. We are planning on coming out next week to have a look around with our Realtor.

Sahuarita is nice, especially Rancho, and you can avoid most of the Raytheon normal traffic by going up Nogales hwy. Stone house is nice, I thought it was too expensive, but then I built a custom house for as much as I would have spent there. If you like Stone house, check out Madera Reserve and Madera foothill estates. If you need a realtor, I can hook you up with my friend Victor.

If they had nice hotels near the local lakes we would reconsider, but my wife isn't interested in camping again. Been there done that.
Most homes in Tucson aren't boat deep either. I'm lucky to find a 3 car garage that's 24' long.

I’ve seen the pics and it is an unreal property.
House is straight up bad ass nice.

It is to bad there isn't a cross-town freeway in Tucson, there are some awesome places out in the east side of town... Huge mid-century style ranches on large multi acre lots. Might be a bit of a poke from the airport in rush hour though.

Congratulations. I was in talks of making the same move. I am just to comfortable with my current situation. On the other hand one of my co-workers recently excepted a job from them. He left at the beginning of the month. Kept his local house to rent out in the time being. You ever come to YPG in Yuma drop me a line. Seems I'm working with Raytheon on nearly a weekly basis.
