Thanks guys. I called a number but they say the actual store does not take calls and I must come in to ask questions

Anybody know if they need to see the boat when I do the transfer and what additional paperwork I need filled out besides the title?

Haven't registered a boat in AZ in a while.

Thank you

I did mine there a year ago. I just took the signed part of the reg / “title” and was out of there in 20 mins. Shouldn’t need the boat.

Like every says quick stop. The other side of the street on the back side of Chico’s. Easy as hell only paperwork was needed when we transferred the boat and registered it. We were not residents at the time but had our house there. We have since changed that. Non res reg is at least double res reg. I want to say it was more like triple. We didn’t want to dick around with the change at the time so we changed it a year later. 👍

@69hondo check my Hondo thread, I was just at Quickstop a month or two ago. Easy as can be and I never took the boat or trailer to them. If all the paperwork is filled out correctly its a breeze.

The only thing that didnt work was my personalized plate for the trailer. QS said it was available but MVD said it wasnt and issued me a regular plate. I was refunded the $25 though so no real loss

Quickstop for the win! Wish CA had something this easy..........
They have 1 not far from me about 5 minutes from the DMV. It was $25 to pay registration and get sticker. And $100 transfer fee. Totally worth it when DMV is 3 hour wait. They don't have commercial stickers, boat or offroad though. And DMV has since added a kiosk machine to pay registration but it doesn't do weight stickers either for commercial trucks.

No titles on boats in AZ. Registration acts as the ownership document, and a bill of sale is all that's needed. Trailer, however, will require a title change through MVD. As long as the boat is currently registered in AZ and there are no issues with the Hull ID Number, there's no need to examine/inspect the boat. Can all be done via mail, on-line or in person.

It'll be quicker if you download and fill out the forms before hand. It'll make sure you can get it all done at once. You'll need:

Application for Certificate of numbers (for the buyer to put it in his name)
Watercraft Bill of Sale
Watercraft Sold Notice (to "officially" release your liability)

Good paperwork from Michigan? If Mich requires a title, you will need that, signed and Notarized (if Michigan requires). If bought from a commercial dealer you'll need proof that proper Sales taxes were paid. If not, you'll need to be ready to pay them in AZ. Private party sales do not require and sales taxes.

All the above for the trailer.

You "shouldn't" have to bring in the boat/trailer, but if it's not a big deal, I'd bring it just in case.

The advantage to using the title/registration services, stated above, is that you can it all in one place, instead of going through AZGFD for the boat and MVD for the trailer.

YUP!

I took my stuff from Horizon right to quick stop, and walked out with the boat and trailer in my name.. the fee for their services is well worth it in my opinion.

They actually came out and verified my trailer VIN. Boat I registered w/ Coast Guard. Cheaper and no numbers on boat. Boat was always registered that way in Havasu so I continued that
