In August 2022, we talked to @Riverbound about doing the AC.

The original system was pretty much toast. It would run 24/7 to keep the house cool in the summer, and it would Never get below 80 some degrees. Some rooms wouldn't cool down at all. It was an absolute nightmare.

The external garage door was falling apart, so I replaced that bitch as well.

I saw this picture and thought what a bad idea to have that in the garage.

I know this thread was a long time coming, but I wanted the Whole project somewhat complete before I posted it.

It was a shit ton of work, but totally worth it.

Be careful when you get @Riverbound involved. Things tend to get out of hand!

Thanks again Bill for the outstanding installation. 👍🏼👏👍🏼
Looks awesome. 👍👍
Had Bill and NexGen do our units about the same time as you.
As you said. Very professional, neat and fast.
It’s nice having a house that will cool to 70ish when it’s over 110 outside.
Thanks again Bill👍

I thought I was the only one with a never-ending remodel project! 🤣 It turned out nice and clean! 👍

Now, back to the truck. Did I see multiple lift blocks stacked above that rear axle? 😲

Whatever dude...

Half that shit I did I couldn't have done without Your help!!!

The Self Leveling Lazer was invaluable. 👌

Dave had me buy this little guy. I've used it for So many different things!!!

If you don't have one, get one. This truly IS the best thing since sliced bread. 👍🏼

Every time I do a project I say I’m going to get one. Then I just struggle through with what I have
Maybe it’s time to just do it. I mean. 30 bucks to relieve stress and frustration. 👍

So the overhead LED lights i bought have 5 color settings, and are dimmable.

Yeah so?

Today, after Dylan installed the door handles, I installed this Smart dimmer switch right after he split.

It's motion sensitive, and fully programmable. So when I walk out into the garage at night, it Slowly turns on the lights to 50 percent brightness, so all those Damm lights won't blind the shit outa me! 😱

When I hit the off button, the same 4 second delay, turns the lights off slowly.

It works with the Google Home app as well. Pretty slick. 👍🏼

That's the epitome of too much technology.

When I replaced one of the LED lights at my rental I saw that it now Incorporated Wi-Fi and color changing blah blah blah.

I would be ecstatic if it just lasted the claimed lifetime number of hours without me having to replace one.

I'm feeling like a NIMBY. I'll take an on-off switch and the promised 10,000 hours of use over all those bells and whistles.

Man I'm getting old.

How does one get the AC equipment into the attic? That's where mine is located, was in the last house too. I just can't imagine having to get it changed out. Does it break down into manageable parts?

It was a piece of cake when I was young.

One guy in the attic the other below just lifts and hands it up. If your nice the guy up top uses a rope to help.

Ducting and routing is the important part i found out.Our house was remodeled before buying it and the ac seemed weak struggled to keep cool and leaked from the top(packaged unit) from not sealed properly.Had sheet metal ducting not insulated and guys t off in places they had no business doing so

Got a new ac and installed correctly but didnt do the ducting and it new ac worked better but struggled some too. Finally got my ass in the attic this winter and i will say im no hvac guy but could this work is screwed up big time.Got some advice from family who is in hvac sent him the rough drawings and he sent me back some on how to redo it.So far i just did it basic and the improvement is very noticable and all the vents now flow nicely with even temps.

Still have some things to do but those are above my skills and will need to call an hvac guy to come and do those.Main thing is i need the return upsized or possibly a second one added but the plenum may need to be modified or changed. Will do that in the fall when it cools off

Gawd Damm it took long enough for someone to notice that! 🤣🤣🤣
Ha Ha. I did the same when I hung my garage cabinets. But I used a floor jack and a tall bar stool. Was a little wobbly at the start. 😳

I bought that work bench at Harbor Freight. I sanded and glued all the joints together and threw some casters on it.

Bought it on sale With a coupon! It has come in Very handy! 👍🏼
