Good job! Glad no one was hurt, but wonder if he would have ever come back and settled for the property damage if you didnt find him..............
This is the real question. He’s a complete bass-hole to continue to fish, and not notify the owner of the dock. Sounds like he had zero intentions to make it right. I’d imagine that you’ll need to involve the authorities to ensure this gets sorted properly.

Highly doubt it. We deal with the fishing tournament guys on our local lake all summer. Every single one of them can fuck off in my opinion. The rules don’t apply to them and they give zero fucks about you or whatever/wherever you are on the lake and what you and your family are doing.
Agree 100%. Most aren’t boaters, they’re fisherman.

They were called by the dock owner early in the day, partly due to my suggestion. They were supposed to go out and investigate, but I don't know if they did since I was busy chasing leads on my own.

A third bass tournament today had a collision accident with 3 fatals.
Those guys were tremendously fortunate. All the boats were going 60 mph in the dark to get to the prime spot If I remember right that dock sits lower than most had the dock been a little higher the results would have been tragic. They had all day to come back and take responsibility but only did so because “Like a good neighbor Barry was there”. Nice follow up Barry👍

I wouldn't give that fucker credit and say "I hope he wins the tournament". He hit the fuckin dock and wasn't going to say shit.
Andrew, you didn't meet the old guy, I did. Who can say for sure, he looked nothing like most of the guys at the tournament check in.

The tournament was just ending at 4 PM, and he actually did need to return to the casino from the check in at Pirates Den.

I would have never found him without your clue that it happened at 4 AM. I will call you after a bit and tell you the entire story, thanks for your help.

Thankfully nobody got hurt. We all come to the water to have fun but it doesn’t always end that way. From now on Parker is closed!

Sorry but I think he and his partner are pieces of shit, damage someone's property and leave the scene without notifying the damaged party, not returning to the area to do the right thing after you have a few minutes to think about your FK UP, GET CAUGHT then act sorry... That is what is wrong with so many in our country. If you Screw Up YOU MAN UP!

A few things here

1- Happy he didn't get hurt

2- Happy you found him

3- Hope he wins the tournament

4- The sooner you can discuss the logistics of this with him the better. If he is going to turn it into insurance, he cannot (very likely) tell them he was in a tournament when this happened. Most policies do not carry coverage while in competition. Now I am not say to tell him to lie, but he needs to understand this because if he doesn't have the means to pay, and he says the wrong thing to the insurance company, this ends up in civil court and costs your buddy a pile of cash to try and recoup his money. In fact, I would entertain having this thread removed until it is sorted, or maybe forever.
I would think the event organizer would have to carry some type of insurance to cover incidents like this.

Didn’t know fishing tournaments started in the dark, yes, very early in the morning, usually at first light or so I thought. kind of strange if you ask me, but what do I know I’m no fisherman.🤷‍♂️

I'm gonna quote your quote with PapaG's Quote 😅

Obnoxious 001, Private Eye. $200 a day plus expenses. At the tone, leave your name and message, I'll get back to you.

That actually reminds me of something one of my Parker buddies might come up with!

There were bass boats all up and down the river today. I figured there was a tournament. I’ve had a couple arguments over the years with bass holes in tournaments at Windsor.

Dock owner will be here Monday after he needed to stay in Long Beach to handle the small boat Catalina Ski Race today. I would assume the guy I met will follow up and pay, but that does remain to be seen.
