2 box anchors. 2 sand anchors. No problemo.
The toon is a huge sail. I typically use 2 spikes. 1 in the front. 1 on the wind side if it's blowing across the beach.

The box anchors works. But I've always planned on building a better slightly lighter one. Or drilling the one I have in a bunch of places to lighten. Some day....

There's one at the bottom of steamboat, had to cut it free after a hour of yanking a few years back

For years I used a painted section of angle iron i drilled a hole in and attached a clevis. I cut the end like a wedge, but no top to it.

Now I use the top half of an anchor rod 20" long galvanized with the end ground to a point, and a 10 lb sledge. the wife made a heavy duty canvas bag I've carried that on the "new" boat for 20 years. every so often I hit the exposed end with paint to knock down any rust. Seems to hold along Parker pretty decent.

Do you attach it to the boat with a down guy and Johnny ball? 😜

I'm cheap, and that is about the cheapest beach anchor I could come up with, I have two velcro straps mounted that hold the bag nice and tight. 😂

Drilling the sides is a great idea to lighten it up, none of the side helps it be an anchor.

… For decades at Pine flat and a few other lakes… Couple of guys would go scout out a very large rock… Bring it back down maybe 15 or 20 feet from short…wrap a ski rope around it…tie the other end to the ski tow or bow eye(depending)… problem solved for the day… very seldom left the boat in the water overnight🤷🏽‍♀️… much later on when I went further up the Feather River than any V Drive had ever been… I tied my Hallet Flatty to a tree on shore… I slept like a baby that night… an adventure I will never forget👍,..

I got this one from West Marine many years ago.
I think it was $75
I like the 2 handles.
Can't read the brand on it.
I need to send it out and have it polished lol

@rvrrat350 maybe this was your box anchor that got tossed without a rope 😂

Surprised they are out of business.

What are you building let’s turn this thread positive.
21ft Ultra Shadow closed deck, jet (same as a TPR Steath or like a Daytona) with a blown 572. Guessing it should make 950 to 1000HP. Its a 2024, never rigged, NO holes.. Going to BLR after Memorial to start rigging and bounce back and forth between BLR and Shockwave for rigging and interior. Boat pics are from the ad, its sitting on a new trailer now...... Gonna order a lime green Shore Hitch for it when its all done.... 🤣

Seriously, very wild... A $250 one time purchase product to throw in their $250k boat that takes $500 in fuel to drive up to Pirates and spend $700 on nachos and beer... priorities I guess. Hahaha. I guess Im in the minority on this, love mine, works great for me, and I will buy another one for my boat that is currently being built when it is finished.

I feel like my buddy Chris had something to do with this company. Oddly I can’t find his Instagram where he was posting

Had my Slide Anchor spike for 20 years and discovered a crack in it. Took it to them to see if they could fix it and they handed me a new one. I will stick with them.
I'm pretty sure Ryan and Slide Anchor were the very first sponsor of Desert Storm (back then it was the "Heatwave"). Each year I looked forward to seeing him and his mother Fran there.

And just as you describe, I watched him do the same for numerous customers. Such a stand-up guy and company.

Is this some twisted logic reverse psychology @2FF type thread to get me to buy a SlideAnchor?

Now that this thread has taken a hundred different turns. Looking back at the title, I think “scam” isn’t warranted. Maybe ShoreHitch troubles with customer service. I don’t think they are pulling a scam however. That’s a little ridiculous.

I agree. OP was offered a free replacement to take care of the damaged product, which is a sign of good customer service.

So many ppl fell for the bling and “fancy” marketing, in reality the OG slide anchor spike works and this one looks good for pictures, also not a fan of the design theft.

I agree the OG is where it’s at for us. Rob you ever pick up a new sled yet?
