RV polishing shout out. Stroud RV

When we bought our trailer it came with a dealer Applied “ceramic coating” we leave our trailer in ocotillo wells 6 months out of the year and it’s stored outside as well when home.

After 5 seasons ot was looking pretty rough. I have ot washed and waxed at least 2 times a year but the coating had failed and was looking bad.

I had talked to a few people and stroud RV was used by a few friends with very positive results.

I have had my RV buffed, waxed, polished etc and was still unhappy with the results.


Called strouds and they came up with a plan and it was far less money than I had been quoted by others.

They stripped all the old coating off. Then started over with polishing and buffing the trailer. The. Waxing and sealing the trailer.

All the others just tried buffing out the old coating.

Hell that’s a deal!! I was being lazy so i had two guys local to me quote me 1100 to 1500 just to toss on a wash and a wax coat on my brand new trailer before i took it to the river. So needless to say i became not so lazy and did it myself lol

We think alike…and I am a cheap bastard.

I broke out the buffer on mine awhile back… Getting a few hours here and there…
I can honestly say I have at least 12 hours on it,, and I am about 80% done… its a ton of work.

But I got mine a few months ago and its a 2004, and the exterior was in rough shape… extremely chalky.

But its looking alot better now.

Do you know what product they use to strip the old or did they just sand the whole thing? My trailer has ghost Stripes from where the old vinyl was.

I do not. I was at work when they did it.

My graphics are toast, like literal toast. It peels or flakes off in tiny pieces the size of shredded paper.
I want to get that crap removed & then have the chalky gelcoat restored.

I did that on a WW I bought back in 2020, talked to Stroud but ultimately did it myself. It is a TON of work, getting those old graphics off was a PITA but it came out great. 3M heavy cut did the job nicely to pull the oxidation off. Then we took it out for the first trip, decided it was to small and sold it

They are very easy to work with and now have a yard in the IE where you can drop off if having it done oat your house is inconvenient. Going forward I will be dropping off at their yard so they can do the maintenance on it twice a year.

Way cheaper than what the wife and were talking about doing. We love the trailer but we’re over it looking old and had started looking at new trailers. Figured I easily saved myself $100,000 doing this.

Just given you a hard time. Got the coach going to Colton Truck terminal Wednesday as I couldn’t get the desiccant air brake filter off.

Lol.. Yup, already called them. I wonder if they know why they are getting all these calls all the sudden.

I actually had a couple people do that over the years and then spam the shit out of the forums..

If they want to advertise they can.. it’s not that expensive and obviously it works.

Yes sir been here for an hour and a half. Got the whole RV washed including the roof. Now they're working on cutting compound.

That’s cheap compared to out here.. it would be 3-4 times that in havasu

Final results look great. Happy with the overall turnout although it did not get out all of the yellowing so you can still see a little bit of where the old Graphics were. I'm the second owner of this trailer and the first owner stored it outside not Undercover for a couple of years so the yellowing was pretty bad. Overall though I highly recommend they did a great job
