For a boat manufacturer that has seen its share of drama - seems you can't bring the name Apache up with out an argument in most boating circles - and hasn't been built by the original company (Ben Kramer/Bob Saccenti Apache) since the early 90's when Kramer was thrown in prison....But god dayum, you gotta appreciate the overwhelming superior quality of these boats that punish the water, rather than be punished by it!

In this video, which was just recently posted on Youtube by the previous owner of the 41' Apache "Razz", you can see why these boats are still - after over twenty years - are so well respected.

By the way, the owner in this video is the same gentleman that owns the blue 50' Skater "Avatar".

I know some of you could care less about offshore powerboats but some videos are just bad azz no matter what kind of boat it is (big vee, cat, flattie, jet, etc.)!

Watch the video...It's INSANE!!!:eek::eek:

Thats old school bad ass. I'm sure they needed a diaper change after those 2 major launches around 3min. And how did it go from 2 guys no helmets to 3 with??

Thank god for modern video and HD. That old stuff was shit.

HAHAHA...Yea, that old VHS was crap! Love the sound of those motors though!

It was actually two videos (different days) spliced into one.

And the jackets/helmets was just them out running hard again. No race..Just prepared for business!!

I think it was an Apache at Islander a few months back. Thing is built like a tank. Those drives sure take a pounding as well.

Awesome video Tank, thanks for sharing.

This used to be my favorite video but I think the one you posted tops it.

Yes The hull is huge and built for some serious water. The motor area is huge and you basically stand up to drive it.

That boat was bad azz before they started the re-build. They've stripped that thing down. Can't wait to see what it looks like when they're done with it!

Best YouTube video I have seen in ages... I kept expecting him to stuff it (hard) but that boat aired out beautifully. Doesn't look too deep either. That is just massively rad!

That video is sick! Nice one Tank!

I still have my Apache T shirt that Bobby Saccenti signed when he came to a SCOPE event about 10 years ago... Funny guy to listen to in person with some great stories.:thumbsup

So now to really stir the pot, which modern day manufacturer could you run like that? I would do it in a Pantera or Lavey

I'd run any of Joe's Panteras above 28'.

Or, run my buddy's 47' Pantera clone >

There's a few manufacturers still building today you could run a boat like that. But only a hand full.

My completely unprofessional guess would be:

Cigarette, Active Thunder, NorTech, Outerlimits and Skater who is building some big Deep V's as of late.

Cigarette, and Cigarette.. LOL

RD

Easy Dave, I can be impartial. :D

I have punished the crap out of my Top Gun though. Took it out in true 12' seas and have the photos to prove it.

That's a great list and I would agree.

For west coast I'd say that big 'ol Schiada and from what I've seen the Shockwaves handle big water and fly very nicely. I would guess from the quality build shown from Howard that that new 36 would handle some big water nicely.

Now to sound Biast, but we went out in decent water in that 43' Schiada.. running 70-80 mph, and I walked down into the cabin (without bending over) grabbed another beer.. and realized I never reached to hold onto anything.

That thing is a beast.

That boat is a monster though. I'm sure it would crush some big water!

That 43' Eliminator Eagle probably would as well, old Scarab or Larry Smith hull?
