How often do you guys replace your impeller ? I usually do every year , this time was just over 2.5 . I do have a low water pickup on outdrive .

I tell my customers every 2 seasons or 50 running hours, whichever comes first. This is also dependant on what body of water you use your boat on, some are harder on impellers than others. some of my customers elect to do them every year anyway. I dont blame them at all but I wont push it on them either

Every year as part of the annual. It’s cheap insurance. Do the same with the SCS rubber band.

Used to do it with my annual then switched to hours based but now inspect as part of a preventative maintenance schedule.

It’s seams like consistent use year round makes ‘em last longer 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've gone as many as four seasons in my 496 and it never came out looking as bad as the one in the pic, even when I had the shitty OEM brass housing.

Every year per Barrett for the most heavily used boat. Don’t know if arrowhead is hard on it or not but I’m not chancing it. It’s part of the annual, but I do it like November/December. They lube it with soap which supposedly helps for the storage time before the next season.

For our other less used boat in Havasu I think we could push two seasons with it, but it does a lot of sitting so that may or may not be a good thing.

Mine is always bent but never ripped or missing vanes.

One would think , now that man can land a rocket booster on its own legs within a few feet of target that someone would make a long life impeller. Lets get Elon involved!!

525EFI standard sierra. Every 2ish years.

KE twin stage. Pretty much every year. Those things eat impellers.

But also keep tools and spares on the boat. Changed these on the water many of times.

Every year, the guys at the Havasu Springs boat shop gets it out of storage and does full service and puts it back for when I'm ready to take it out. If it is later in the season they will put it in my slip for me.

Every year, or every 40 hours, it’s never looked like it was needed however a hell of a lot easier in my garage than on the water.
The river is dirty and lots of silt, so it’s cheap and easy insurance in my opinion.

Every year. Its a total gamble if you go every other year. I learned the hard way.

I change out every spring and they have looked pretty good when coming out. I only use OEM impellers. I purchased a Sierra impeller a few years ago and noticed the rubber was a different stiffness so I didn't use it.

I pulled this one out of a friend's 496HO last month... Viagra or Cialis?

The water is very clean here in northern Michigan and we only boat 3 months, so I safely get 4+ years out of my single stage pumps, but I do carry a set of rebuilt pumps on board just in case! on the boat with the triple stage pumps I install a new set of OEM impellers every spring, sure don't want the big girl to run short on water in a poker run, fun run, etc.

Water cleanliness and ambient humidity has a lot do to with impeller longevity.

Spring dry starts do them in most of the time. Sand there after. A well treated bravo impeller should go three years.

I go every 2 seasons. My water pressure gauge will be minimal at idle if I go Any longer than 2.

Seems impeller would be changed at start of season. Otherwise the fins might take a set and not move enough water by next season

Biggest problem I have with that is Barrett is slammed from like February on with spring boat prep so it’s nearly impossible to get in there for that.

I always do it at the end of the season because it seems they are slightly less busy and easier to get in. And I figure what’s one more month or month and a half of sitting?

I do it with the fluid changes at the end of the season because I wouldn’t want to store the boat with used fluids and all the contaminants over winter until spring. And I don’t have the time to take it twice.
