Thanks for sharing the fun with the rest of us.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I've heard the 10K/wk number several times- been curious about how the fuel works out for a trip.

Tortolla is a great starting point- there is cool stuff all the way around it,
so there are only long open ocean trips if you wanna do dat.
And from what I've seen- when you stop at a destination down there... you stick for a while.

BVI is the sailing rental capital of the planet for a reason. ;)

I have no issues sharing the numbers... will have to do it when we get home though. Don't have the info handy right at this moment...

Would be interested in this as well....have been thinking about a trip there since Jay's first BVI photo thread.....thinking the motor cat idea would be a cool deal.

Some info for you guys looking for prices...we booked a two cabin power cat from Marine Max for next March. Cost is around $5800. We were originally looking at late April for around $5200 I think. Prices go down as you get closer to summer. There are discounts to be had if you haggle with them a little bit.

Yes, there is definitely a season down there. Saba Rock shuts down for a whole month.

If you put a group together, I would suggest the Memorial Day weekend.
That's the poker run on sunday.
With the flexibility of those cats- you could hit several of the stops
and hang out doing what you would do anywhere on the water
only with less white people and better views. :D

Boats like the iSpeed are also available for charter...
options are plentiful.

I am sure that they have ALL forgotten about US or the Internet by now. Prolly hear from them in a week with Whopper Fishing Stories and Tales of the High Seas. :D

We are working on a similar trip in late November but on a sail cat vs the power cat. I have 4 people commited so far. It should be a great time. It is a bucket list item that I am hoping to check off several times!

no updates today

Told ya. :p

Also, internet can be sketchy if you aren't at a resort.
Think about the location...
that open ocean behind those Saba Rock shots is Portugal on the other side.

I have a friend that has gone to the PR a few times. He says it's the best but can get really rough at times.

We went to Anegada today! Absolutely epic. It was a bit cloudy and overcast today, but no rain, so no biggie. The air is super warm and so is the water. Happy happy happy!

We ate dinner at this place called the Lobster Trap ... Anegada is known for their lobster and this place pulls it out of water when you order it. 2.5 pounds of lobster. Ridiculous....

You can see the dude killing the lobsters on the left

DB - How long is the trip over to Anegeda? How fast are you guys motoring? Looks like that one needs to go on the must see list.

Super Cool and thanks for the thread, keep it coming.

One of my attorney's, LOL does a similar trip every year, goes to different locations, different boats but always a CAT style, the pics I've seen just makes me have to do this sooner than later. Once my divorce is settled it's tops on my list to do.

Enjoy, be safe and savor the memories.

Takes about 3 hours or so to get to Anegada. We cruise at only 9 knots... when you catch a swell and ride it, we're at about 11 knots. Definitely not powerboating, but still amazing. It was a pretty rough ride on the way there because it's unprotected water. The way back was waaaay better because you are going with the swell. Saw two HUGE turtles today. Epic. That brings us to today!!

We are limin' today in Cane Garden Bay on Tortola. Absolutely amazing water. Rode my paddleboard into the beach. Now we're grabbing lunch at Rhymers Beach Bar.

James looks Happy, Happy, Happy..... :)

Did you rent the paddleboard there or bring it from home? If from home, that must have been interesting on all the flights (especially the little ones)......

Like others have said, Awesome thread DB!

that would be the life! It's cool how all the islands have bitchin little bar's and restaurants that you basically have to use a boat to get there! I hope that one day I'll be able to experience a trip like that.
