You sound like my dad. He drives around without his seatbelt on and the chime going for all it’s worth. He tunes it out. Drives the rest of the car nuts.

Turn the car on and when you hear the beeping noise follows the sound and when you see what's making the noise hit it as hard as you can. With a big hammer. The one on my hummer doesn't make that noise any more.

We have a 23 Denali. The backup collision avoidance braking system is beyond fucking annoying. Every time we back out of the garage, bam the brakes hit. We might turn the fucker back in because of it. The dealer is looking into an early lease return. There are WAY too many safety features.

But seriously, how fucking lazy are you that you dont put a seatbelt on?

So, you're the guy that they are going to have the manufacturers required to tie the seatbelt in with a scale in the seat along with a driver's license live database that gives you this.

The bell gets louder and louder until you can't stand it anymore. You stop at a bar or liquor store and they card everyone. No wear seatbelt, no Coors for you. You are overweight, until you lose 25 lbs., no Coors for you. So, you find a way to get your fix. Your SUV goes into 4 way flasher mode with a GPS location to every squad car within a mile. That we have a Denali, no seatbelt on, stopped at liquor store and bar, most likely DUI........

Chevy and Ford use to make seat belt extensions that are basically a short seat belt. They use to give us cases at a time for the PD cars. Insert the extension in the seat belt receiver and the ringer goes off and you can still use your existing seat belt into the extension. It gives you a longer seat belt as a bonus. Just leave the extension inserted and release the seat belt from the extension. Check with a GM dealer if they make the extension for a police package Tahoe. They are also DOT and GM approved.

My wifes VW does this, riding the brake pedal is the only way to avoid the brakes being automatically slammed on as you pass the door opening.

I blame the bwm system for a minor fender bender... (I was not driving), the one time it didn't work is when it needed to... (snow boot slipped off pedal). Otherwise the thing will put you into the freaking dash when not necessary. I hate this crap and its part of why I did not want "active cruise control" on my truck.

@RiverDave , order a seatbelt extender, or a junkyard belt and cut the buckle off.... Easiest way

On my ‘23 Canyon Denali, I was able to turn off the collision avoidance via the infotainment screen. I’d imagine it’s similar in a Yukon.

With key on press brake pedal down 15 times on the 16th time hold it down and turn light switch on an off 2 times. Turn key off and on and all should be good.

No joke this is about how it's done on a ford truck 🤦🤦🤦

Too bad the horn wasn't required
You have one to many B-A's on there.. no 30 lives for you🤣
I had to go look it up, I thought there was 2 B-A's and I thought it was select-start

Dave, I recommend that you don’t do this. But if you want to it’s as easy as pulling the harness plug out of the bottom of the seatbelt under under the seat.

Go to a pick a part junkyard. Cut one from another vehicle.
They got one of those out there in Havasu?
You think Dave’s gunna go walk around one in Kingman?
He could just order one online if he can’t disable the computer.

Yep!! It’s up by Lowe’s. Would take him 30 seconds.

I can’t imagine there’s not a fuse for it. They have everything on a fuse these days.

You should watch a few youtube videos on collisions with SRS systems airbags going off around unbelted passengers. Pong anyone?

Not telling you what to do RD, you are a smart man.

If you persist in acting stupid because you just don't want to do it, make sure you quadruple your life insurance for your family.

Then hope they actually pay out because you defeated/altered or failed to use required restraint systems in your vehicle.

Just a little story about SRS systems and their results.

A few months ago one of my clients fell asleep at the wheel in his 2021 Tesla P100D going 75MPH on the way home from Ventura after a meeting.

He hit a tree at speed, it almost tore the vehicle in half, the tree was in the passenger seat that was in the rear seat.

He walked away with a cut lip, a black eye and some tiny glass cuts on his cheeks. His seatbelt and the airbags saved his life and his health.

Wear them. I hate them too. I hate motorcycle helmets too, but I wear one ever since I got run over in an accident and it popped the helmet, not my head.

Just do it for your family and friends, if not for us, your extended RDP family.

This is why we need Vince and Larry back.
