you purchase the template, then cut as needed. Ship that and they will cut it based on templates and colors you want.
@Ziggy did his boat himself, might be able to provide additional info
And mine 4 fender steps, two fenders, the triangle on nose, two small steps, one large top step, total of 10 pieces was 180$ two tone cnc cut and the little feet and words, which were meant as a reminder to the kids...... and wife!Prolly overkill for some simple trailer stuff, I’m thinking just trim it myself with a razor blade after sticking it.
Good question.
Yes, they sell sheets of it with a dimpled surface you can cut to size.Prolly overkill for some simple trailer stuff, I’m thinking just trim it myself with a razor blade after sticking it.
Gator Step has the templates for the small fenders and steps. View attachment 769627 View attachment 769628
Exactly what I want

Phillip Gator Step West CoastWhere they located?
Ok Mr. OCD you think you want to do this yourself, lol.Prolly overkill for some simple trailer stuff, I’m thinking just trim it myself with a razor blade after sticking it.
Does this stuff have a sticky backing or do you have to glue it down?
Nice job Scott.look for EVA foam on ebay and amazon. You can by it in many colors and pattern options very cheap. I have a 4 x 8 laser and can cut it if you want to make templates. It's not that hard to do. Did a boat last year. Not to bad for my first attempt. I'm getting ready to do my Yamaha Ar210 her shortly. My lines weren't perfect but it looks allot better than it did! all this was about $250 in material cost. Not sure what to charge for my time. View attachment 769648 View attachment 769651
Sticky backing. The hard part to me is routing the cut edges to make it look nice. Guys online are using routers.
The material has PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) on the back, so no glue is needed. I have 4 cnc routers as well, but you need a special vacuum hold down and special cutters to cut and hold this stuff in place. If you don't care about the fancy patterns, the laser is the easiest method. The next stuff I'm doing is just all grey with no lines. It should look allot cleaner than the last. The template and patterning is where seadek and other companies get you. The material really isn't very expensive.

not sure exactly, but I think the bits are knurled, not fluted.I got my sample piece today and promptly dickered it right up. Any idea as to what the special bits are? I know they are not standard v-bits. Looks like it was a ball nose cutter. You do not need a vacuum table for one off pieces. A little tack glue worked well enough. (For production runs...yeah you need a vacuum).
You did a really nice job there.I'm currently testing out the EVA foam decking from Walmart in their "Faux Teak" design on white backing (comes with an adhesive back) $50 per 3ft x 6.5ft sheet and the shipping was free. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Marine-E...eet-Self-Adhesive-Mat/406309650?selected=true
For the swim step I made templates out of taped together projector screens (remember the old classroom projectors you could write on?) following the non-slip design, outlined with a sharpee and cut with some nice scissors. I still have leftovers too!
I've also been playing around with this material sewed to outdoor grade canvas as well as its ability to hold snaps. The idea here will be to replace the OEM Baja snap-in carpet with this EVA Foam. Eventually I might design a set of pads for the bow to lay out on that I can remove easily.
We're three months in and the material is holding up great. I've had a large dog, skis and plenty of coolers thrown on it and still no delamination, discoloring or stains.
