They look like real nice boats. Can anyone fill me in on build quality or anything else about them?

I do not have any info on the build quality, but from what I have seen they do not seem to perform well. I seen some with some big HP motors and they seem to not put up the numbers that you would think.

Phatt Matt has one of their big deck boats. Twin 496 HOs in it. Build quality looks good from what I saw.

My neighbor who has since moved had a 28 deck with big blown HP. Ran not so well with the OD so he had a surface dive put in it. Endless money and it still did not perform like it should.

My bud has a deck at the river with a 525, great looking boat and I don't recall any issues with the boat other than the first 2 trips to work the kinks out and that was 4 years back. Boat performs well.

I owned a Domn8er 23v for about 6 or 7 years. It was a great boat during the time I had it!! For me I was not worried about top speed or any other numbers I wanted a boat that was solid, reliable and worked well when the water got rough.
For its size the boat handled the rough stuff better than any other 23 I had seen. I was never left stranded due to mechanical failure. So for me it was a perfect boat. Now was it rigged perfect? No, There were a few shortcuts taken, the gel was not perfect but I constantly received comments about how good it looked. For the price I paid, and what I was looking in a family boat for I could not have asked for anything better.

I wish I could afford a deckboat, but I'm in the 22-24' v price range.
Just want a nice dependable boat. Something I can teach my kids how to ski behind and tube. But then when DAD want to look cool he still can without breakin the bank. I just wanted to make sure it's not something that will have issues and fall apart.

Was a joke, I think they are good looking boats and friends that have them really like them.

How about a Eliminator deck boat. :D

new would be eliminator, nordic or howard. All of those cant be found used.
For a V bottom in the 23 to 25ft range Id stick with Nordic, Lavey, sleek, maybe a advantage.

This was my buddy's boat. He bought it new. Never gave him an ounce of problems. Sold it to buy bigger. Boat ran strong, handled chop well, solid feel and put up decent numbers with a 496. The second owner just put it back on the market, not sure but I think he moved it quick.

Domin8tor's are a decent boat from what I have always seen. I've never seen something where I would say "I wouldn't buy it because of this?"

If you want it rigged to the 10's, negotiate out a price for hull / motor / drive and take it over to prime marine.. They'll rig it cheaper then most mfg's, and do it up like you wouldn't believe.

I think you are thinking of a Lavey Deckboat.. Unless there is another guy that put a surface drive on his deckboat as well??

What's the recent education on Domin8er boats in comparison to boats like DCB and Eliminator for their deck?

Our park neighbor has a Lavey deck big motor, with an Arneson drive. The Lacey decks look like big floating billboards to me. So much boat.

See him out a lot. Talked to him a few times. Looks huge on the water compared to most deck boats.

Our friend has a 28 deck with 496HO. Not a speed queen but rides like a RV across the water, zero rattles. I helped him do his stereo and got to wedge into the not so fun spaces. Everything looked up to par rigging wise. Way smoother ride the our friends Magic.

Well... it's spelt Domn8er.
I have to wonder sometimes if the misspelling of Domn8er helps their business or hurts it.

Lavey's are measured at the waterline so a 29' at the waterline is MUCH longer than the competition 28 footers...

Don't they have a 22 deck you can buy brand new with a 496 for about $55K?

Can’t say I have been in one in the water. But, we had one priced out about 2 years ago when the engine on the boat gave out. We were going there to look at a 26 used deck boat in red and white for 55k, but someone brought it already. So my dad priced out a 26 deck boat with a 502 with some adds on like a full cooler instead of a sink, dog gate in front, etc. I believe it was about 93k?

Didn’t end up getting it as my dad hates payments and that was out of the budget. The boats looked nice, everyone was friendly, but didn’t water test any of them. They were going to have us test one to see if we liked the deck boat feel since we were used to the closed bow deeper v type of boat, but didn’t want to waste their time.

They did good for us. I’ve got a 22 deck with a 350 Verado.

Their boats are nice and built well. They are a custom boat and will do what you want. They don’t have some of the real custom rigging or touches a DCB might have but the price is lower to reflect that. I’m very happy with mine after two seasons and I think they are a great value.

They are heavy so not going to break any speed records but they are very solid.

Two thumbs up from me :)

If you are going to consider a 22 deck, you will need the bigger power. Small block will run wet and you won't have enough power to get through the porpoise.

We almost built one before buying the Howard. It was under $100k with the 8.2 and had some nice upgrades, like livorsi gauges and controls. Tons of storage room for a 22 deck as well.

I built a 22’ deck earlier this year with a 6.2 HO and have nothing but positive things to say. The boat tops out in the mid 60’s with full tanks and 3 passengers. We did the run from havasu springs to Topock
last Labor Day and had a blast, for 22’ we handled the drive fine and stayed dry. Every one brings up propoising but that’s not true, it comes down to knowing how to drive a deck with the right prop.

The boats are quality builds for the price and Dory is a solid guy to deal with, I think they start about $62,000. We did engine, stereo and trailer upgrade for $73,000 plus tax.
