When my other laptop crashed last September I lost a whole bunch of information and sources for stuff on my jet boat (and other) projects):grumble:
I am going to start some pre-wiring on the boat and want some good zips, not the cheap-ass china stuff that stretch, don't work, break, fade, etc. Anyone got a source for proven, high quality stuff like this? In bulk?
I have started a paper folder...going back to the old days, and writing this stuff down...I thought I'd lost the whole damn wiring schematic I'd dreamed up...but luckily I found a paper copy of it.Paper...binders...graph tablets...the new computers, LOL.

There is a telcom supply house in rancho cordova( 50 and sunrise) that has then in a couple dozen colors. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I can see the store in my mind. I will be driving right by there monday, I can stop in and get you prices and the like.

Oh boy... I don't expect this to go particularly well... lol! :D

... but I get my cable ties at.......... ahem..... the dollar store.

Years ago, dollar store zip ties were not the same quality as the high end nylon cable ties from a good electrical supplier. In fact, they weren't very good quality at all and would break if you tried to make them bend too tightly. Those days are long past.

I picked up a clear plastic tube of 1000 small ties in assorted colors for $1.25. I've seen bags of 5000 ties in assorted colors and sizes for $15.

At the electrical supplier, $10 will get me something like 10~25 ties depending on size.

Tom I will admit it, I've used those as well...but our dollar store up here is lagging...bad. And I need good ones...:D
I will look into the others, guys. I thank you for your responses.
If all else fails there is the Turlock Swap Meet...I hate to go though, I always find stuff I didn't know I couldn't live without...
One of the problems with small town life, ya gotta come off the hill or mail order/internet shop damn near everything.

One other suggestion would be Amazon. They have everything on that site and great pricing. Buy 25 bucks worth of whatever usually and get free super saver shipping. Helps since you have to buy so much other stuff online. Only problem now is California and their BS so now they built DC's here and you have to pay tax.

While I like Harbor Freight for some things, I bought several bags of their zip ties a couple of years ago, and they now break just trying to use them, even though they have been stored in the bag in my garage, so I would highly caution against buying zip ties there.

I do seem to recall Home Depot having plastic jars of zip ties that were cheap, and had several colors of the 4" ties in the jar.

www.tiewraps.com

It is a local San Diego company, great guy who owns it and premium quality zip ties and plenty of other stuff. I buy all my electrical from him, as well as many it my Adel SS cushion clamps.

LOL....nevermind!

I often misread/overlook when using tapatalk. plus tapatalk spells out emoticons so I see that and habitually ignore it.
