I know there's a lot of C/10 and Blazer peeps on here and this is not really my forte.

A little back story, my father in law has recently had some serious health issues and is going to require long term care. He lived a very secretive life and would never allow us to see his place. We found out why tonight. We had to go to his place to see what we were dealing with. Bottom line, he is a hoarder. We are tasked with going through everything and finding what is of value to help pay for his care.

This is one of the many vehicles he owns. I know these are starting to go up in value but no idea what it is worth. We knew he had it but thought it was in better shape. It runs and has a hard top and convertible top but is in really rough condition at least in my opinion. Probably not worth much but I am curious.

I could not tell you an accurate value but I will say that the old K-5 blazers are worth alot especially to somebody really in the know! I would check some of the off-road sites and get a better value before somebody tries to steel it. I would laugh at anything less than 5K until you get a better clue. Also check with the rock climber group. I had one about 30+ years ago and they are a blast to drive and play in. Again get an accurate value before somebody drives off laughing about what I just scored for nothing. they have value be careful. My opinion. Mark

Dude. Are you retarded? You absolutely know this is worth 10k at least in the current market. You read RDP right? There have been MANY discussions about early Blazers.

Is it a 4x4 or a 2wd? That alone will change the price.

If you are truly asking for opinions, that could be worth 5 to 15k depending on running gear and condition.

Post up more Greg if you are for real and not trying to bait.

You know there are many people with a pulse on the market for hotrods and classics.

What year is it?
Looks like an early 70s, which is good for you. Pre-smog deal, worth more to us Californians thanks to you liberal dickheads.
Can you tell if it originally had A/C?
That would be another plus.
What tranny? Trannie?

You should fix it up, you’re somewhat into classics.
That thing might look pretty pimp one day towing your boat.

I'm into classic but not this kind. I'm just trying to help my wife and my father in law. It is 4 wheel drive. Today was quite the eye opening day.

It’s really hard to tell from a few pictures, it is a desirable model but it looks like it’s been sitting out in the elements on jackstands. Looking at the pictures I wonder if the floors are rusted out if it’s been sitting out in the rain. I do think it’s probably worth more than $2000 though. Sounds like the guys trying to lowball you.

Seriously grads, just sit on it for a few days since you put it on the largest custom boat/car/truck website in the world.

That particular vehicle is pretty desirable, just wait for the offers to flow in to get a general feel for pricing it.

The more info and pictures you can provide will only help.

I am not the one with the dyslexia. You should seek help.

By the way, adding an insult without commenting on the original post is called trolling.

Go fuck yourself you piece of shit.

People tend to over value these 1st gen k5’s. Either they are over modded and bubba fuct or they are rust buckets. It’s very rare to find a un molested k5 that’s in decent condition to start a project.

Start with the body. If it’s got rust in the door sills it’s a sub 5k. If the body is clean and it runs 4x4 you might have a $7500- 10k.

I’ve seen quite a few of these restored with some big money into them and they never get what they’re asking. That’s my opinion. Good luck!

There was never a big block option for the original Blazers.
AC was a rare option.
3/4 ton? you are stupid as fuck, no such thing.

You are dreaming as far as price.

Always better to buy one that someone has spent 100k on and you buy it for 35. That is how it works unless you have something really nice or special.

Those trucks are worth coin, but like mentioned its all about how weathered it is. Weatherstripping, tires, paint etc, those arent deal breakers, rustin the cowl, rockers, floor pan etc, those are tough pills to swallow. Being presmog, 1st gen and full hard top make this truck desirable, start scouting similar trucks on hemmings to get a better idea of current market

Looking at the pics quickly, looks like a small block, 4 speed 4 wheel drive non ac, ps/pb. Zoomed in, don’t see any obvious rust. If the floors, cowl, etc are all rust free, you got a nice blazer there. If not, I’d throw the tires back on it and get it running and sell it. It has some curb appeal, it should sell easy either way.

Rust free trucks grind the 60’s and 70’s only go up and up in value.

a quick five minutes on Craigslist of similar or same year K5 Blazers shows $9000 for what appears to be stock running/driving one which looks good (in pics) and $15,000 for one with some mods and nicer looking (in picts).

I'm with Cdog above on price. If little to no rust and it runs plus drives, I would say an easy $7500, even $10,000. People are hot for old iron, unless it's some oddball wagon or 4-door car.

I agree with Cdog and bowtiejunkie on the general market pricing.

The closer to stock and the closer to having all stock components, the more valuable they get. That looks like it is missing a bunch of the original bits and that stuff adds up quick.

Interestingly it appears in the third picture that unit may be a manual versus an automatic. Factory Manuals seem to bring a lot more money.

I don't get the impression you are real mechanical or like to work on stuff yourself. If you don't like to do stuff yourself, that'll eat a hole in a checkbook pretty fast.

In any event, the cost of a high quality third party restoration on those things in general exceeds the finished value. So if you don't like to do stuff yourself, buy one done.

Hopefully your dad did a non-operation permit for the registrations been expired for more than five years if you didn't in California there could be up to $1000 in late fees. It looks like it's a 71 or 72 model by the grill.

it's worth more than $2k as long as it doesn't have a salvage title and or a lot of rust, odds are that it will have some rust.

DO NOT SELL IT FOR 2G!

Looks like it's in decent enough shape to get atleast 5 and if it had the herd top I'd be all over it.

Post it up on craigslist, after you bolt the tires back on, for $7000 and see what happens.

I agree-looks like a 5-7k blazer. Non-a/c, no tach, standard package. Needs a lot of work, but looks like a good honest truck to start with. If you get it running that will speed up a sale. If someone offers you 5000 sight unseen, and brings a trailer-take it.

Did you find the fiberglass top?
Yes, the fiberglass top which is in great shape was sitting a few feet away but I didn't get a pic. I also understand there is a soft top. I can get better pics. I'm sorry, very stressful right now.

Looks like it "had" a factory tach. If you can get 5k when someone shows up to actually do you a favor and haul it off, don't blink.

Crazy... That truck in SoCal is an easy 40k+ barn find and some idiot will pay it.... Looks to me like it's been hacked on a bit.

I'm guessing what you are hearing in the 5k range is close if it actually runs. I'm curious why the tires are off and what's going on with the dash and steering column?

Those are very capable trucks and you are right, they are going up in value. All really depends on how much effort you want to put into selling it. The Auto was/is more desirable so it being a manual might keep the value down a bit.

Here are a couple examples:

List it for 12K Greg and it will sell for that or maybe a little less. Dont get screwed by someone who knows exactly what that is. If the numbers are matching and the title is clear (Even with backowed fees), you'll get a buyer who is interested. Good luck Buddy and dont stress over it.

I actually have the title in hand and believe it or not registration is current. I will be honest, I noticed a little rust when I opened the door right at the door sill but the floors looked good.

Open the glove box door and if it’s original it’ll have the option list for that truck on it.

It’s a factory gauge non-tach, non-AC dash, small block 4-speed truck. The option list will possibly tell gear ratio and if it came with positraction or not, tinted glass, etc.

Somebody is going to have to have that. I’m wondering if a caliper is stuck or something is why the wheel is off.

Good luck getting everything sorted out.

someone that knows what it will cost to bring it back. That will give you the true value. Then offer it for at least double and settle for a deal for the buyer......

The nice thing is it runs on real regular fuel if you can find it. ;)
