At the Yucca Valley Airport is a cool little old school bar and restaurant The Copper Room.

Been there forever.

Open every late afternoon weekdays and earlier weekends.
Excellent food and drink. Friendly service.

Cool old atmosphere and a view bar you may see an occasional airplane landing.

We head to the river this time of year with parts and supplies to repair & refurbish the trailer and the Copper Room is a regular stop.

When I am in restaurants or bars that do this Like Sleek said it's the tip.

If bartender or server is awesome I leave a little extra cash.

We're heavy tippers and the food quality and service here is always outstanding. Always a good experience.

Like, mentioned it's the size tip that we would leave anyway. Actually we'd usually leave more than that.
Also mentioned above, we leave a few bucks cash more at the bar because it's always excellent too.

Fox's lost some good bartenders because of the off-season bad or no tips. Add the drive in from LHC,, do the math. Single moms bartenders with no support from a deadbeat ex, in spite of good tips on some summer weekends,, they work year round elsewhere.

Playboy Club and many other places also with outstanding food and service always wrote in the tip on the tab. To me,, not a bad thing if it's a good place.

Cool have to check it out.
Love airport restaurants. Used to go to Aqua Dulce and just hang out and have a bowl of chili on a lazy Sunday.
I just remembered the other day a terrific breakfast/brunch/lunch on the runway at Camarillo Airport.
Lots of car clubs on the weekends and ya park right on the tarmac.
Been a spell since we've been so check the reviews first:

Retirement benefits for staff? Never heard of that before
Worded to make them look good, and maybe might make ya feel better about a mandatory tip if in fact it goes to bennys.

As in in the staff should be saving that 20% for their retirement.

Just like everyone else.
I agree.
Knotts Berry Berry Farm used to put 15% of an employees paycheck in a savings account. Wasn't locked-in, employee could draw the money out.

Two things a Democrat will never endorse nor ever mention: Self reliance and a savings account.
Talk to an employee and see if it goes to 401K matching and Kaiser. Not a bad thing, better than on the hard 8.

We had a high limit card dealer from Caesars in our past OHV group.
I mentioned to him once I didn't like the tip pooling, thought it sucked. Changed the attitude of 'Vegas.

He said he felt the same until on disability after he stacked up his Hayabusa modified Yami Raptor Quad at full throttle into the side of a Toy hauler and was out for 4 months he still got tips from the pooling and that changed his mind.
