In the channel some times if I don’t like peoples music , I’ll crank the Doors . You’d be amazed how many people come over and want to know the group and who’s singing . Then they usually say that’s some great music !

I read multiple books about Jim and the Doors. Growing up, the family would always listen to The Doors & CCR.

Great books about Jim and The Doors

Jim pops in my mind every time I do some drinking down at Hinanos in Venice. That was one of his main spots he used to drink at

It’s one of my top Space Dust accounts in the County. Fantastic Burger there!

LOL one of the first FOUR track tapes😅 I owned

Ray Mansarek his organist was phenominal , My Best friend Greg was a child organ prodigy and could pretty much duplicate Mansareks work in his garage band

I have to admit, I had to Google what the hell four-track was, I thought you were kidding!? 🤔😮😁

Manzarek was supremely talented and just a good guy. He was, more than any other band member, responsible for the sounds that turned on a generation.

Doors of Perseption
Manzarak was responsible for the Doors signature sound. An organ base line that was unheard of before him. While his left hand was dropping the bass line, his right hand was detailing the melody.
Him and Keith Emerson made me want to play keyboards. Mom said I had to take a year of piano first. ( she was a classically trained pianist and vocalist) Unfortunately I couldn’t hang with the lessons. I had motors and bikes to fool with!

If you grew up in the 60's, you're OLD...But....
1. You had the best hair.
2. The best music.
3. And the coolest cars...

My 20-year old daughter has been obsessed with Morrison for the past 4 years.

Last November, Robbie Krieger and members from Zappa’s band played in person for a music appreciation class at CalState Channel Islands.

She was the only student to bring records for Krieger to sign.

Dang, had to look that place up. Amazing you saw them, congrats. :)

I saw Cheap Trick in 79' at the Swing Auditorium before the plane crash.
I just about saw them all at the Swing, I have no idea why the Doors played at the dome. I can't think of any other concerts there.🤷‍♂️ You know the Swing wasn't really damaged that bad by the plane crash, somebody thought they could get a new building from insurance, and it didn't happen,

Niiiice Thanks Buddy! I'm heading up this weekend. Let me know if you're around. My brother is bringing his Flatty for the first run since rebuild. This girl hasn't seen water in many, many YEARS. Going to be the oldest 57' Schiada on the water. Can't wait to ski behind her up to Fox's 👍

Her is something to think about, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin all died at 27. or 72 backwards. 72 pentagrams, here are 72 that surround the patinting on the ceiling of the us capital building in Washington DC. Lots of occult propaganda in that painting.

Just a coincidence you say? Do you know how we got legilly into Vietnam? The Gulf of Tonkin incident. Which is well know to be a CIA false flag. Who was the Admrial in charge of that? Admrial Morrison, thats right Jim Morrison dad. Wikipedia

I was fortunate to be able to see his grave in Paris. This is 1983 and it was a 24 hour party there. It's not like this anymore.

I went to Jim's grave in 1991 or 92. It was kind of sad that people were sitting all over the surrounding Graves, and there was graffiti all over the surrounding Graves. When you entered the cemetery, "Jim" with an arrow pointing towards his grave was spray painted everywhere. I have some pictures, but they need to be scanned

I wonder if they will return the "bust" to his grave?

Thanks for sharing!

If I was the family, I would want it, and not have it put back at the grave. It will get vandalized or stolen again.

Good to see they retrieved it. I remember the "Jims over here" paint on other peoples graves, starting at the entrance. That was so disrespectful.

If you haven’t seen The Doors cover band Wild Child…you should. Pretty amazing. Saw them a couple times. The show at The Whiskey was outstanding
