I was sure people posted about these on here but I couldn't find anything. They are building these not too far away from where we live and they are almost finished. Just curious what people thought of this concept where you can own your own storage unit.

Seem pretty pricey, but what the hell do I know?

Here is one price I looked up for an available locker. All the pricing and availability is on their site for Nevada, Havasu etc. https://luxelocker.com/

It was posted on the Glamis Dunes forum. If you are on there maybe got the 2 mixed up. My River neighbor owns 1 in Parker. It has not climbed up in price like other properties.

Yeah, I guess if you need the space but renting is such an easy out if your situation changes. For 70k I could figure out a better use, but like I said, what the hell do I know? I'm good at taking big piles of money and making small ones. :D

We have a 26 by 55, works great, about two miles from our house next to the Toyota dealer. I think it was $140k. I debated buying it versus adding on to the house RV garage. The lot next door was close to 200k, then the cost of the build, at least 100k and then the drama, the mess etc, wasnt worth it to us so we bought one through stacy. Association dues are $500 a year and that gets you 24 hour lighting, very bright, i wash my RV at night sometimes, bathrooms, showers, remote control gates, RV dump and water and dumpsters, and remote garage door and a man door into the unit as well. We added a mini split via Carrie at Lakeside Air and did the epoxy floors though Curb Appeal painters. I bought and end unit on purpose since they insulate the outside wall, I went dutch on insulating the back wall and other side wall with the neighbors in each unit.

The 28 daytona and sand car and golf cart are in our RV garage at the house and I keep the RV, my wife's boat, a couple harleys and my camaro in the storage unit. There still is room for a few recliners, fridge, etc. Also have the DI water system from culligan in it so I can wash the RV and other toys without drying them.

I purchased my 12x45 back in 2005 for 40k. Similar unit in same complex just sold for 60, so they go up but I will break even worse case. I got tired of storage rent going up each year. I was at 235 a month when I left Havasu RV & Boat Storage by Lowe’s. Dues are $250 a year.
RV dump, trash, full showers and bathroom in the complex. It was worked well for us and made sense to purchase since it gives me an address in AZ.

Ours has 50 amp power which is rare in the older units, some just have household plugs or 30 amp.

That place next to Lowes will now set you back north of $300 a month if they even have one. Rental storage in Havasu is impossible to find spots, has alot to do with the additional crowds at the lake now.

when I was looking in 2007 it was hard to find anything. The place by Lowe’s was the only 1 with a spot and I had to rent it over the phone and pay for 3 months before my boat was ready for it. Neighbor at Islander does summer storage (boat is stored in Ca for the winter) and I laughed my ass of hearing his story on finding a place last year

I may have a 40’ on Dover available in mid April if the lease does not renew. Bathrooms, showers, 24 hour surveillance cameras, security gate, RV dump, wash down area, LED outside lighting. About a 1/2 mile to the Windsor launch ramps. PM me for details in mid March if interested. Disclaimer: I will not rent to Democrats. So yeah, do not inquire without a valid 2020 or earlier voter ID card noting anything but the letters DEM.

you need a fridge set with some cold drinks when your finished detailing the rig you have an icy cold one!

I’m still in the hunt for your set up, that is awesome!
I have some construction stuff / equipment to store and plan on getting a 5th wheel or a motorhome plus Christmas CRAP!

Awesome. I served on your board for a few years around the time we polled owners to invest in an outside brokerage firm. That sure worked out for the best of all owners. We are now one of the most solid storage facilities on the books in LHC.

There's a similar concept with a couple of locations not far from my house.. I don't know pricing for sure, but I've heard rumors that they are selling out at pretty high prices. I'm glad I dd my RV garage back in late 2016. I thought construction was expensive then, and it's only gone up since.

bumping this one back up, just had a convo with the luxelocker folks about a new location they are trying to open in Mesa (they haven't closed on the land yet) and my dad is considering the one that they are building in Chandler at Stellar Airpark. @ONE-A-DAY still happy with yours?

For sure, there is no charge for electric either, even with a mini split cranking all summer. New phase is almost done next door, Stacy said one person bought them all and I guess is going to rent them. Selling price went up, not sure by how much though, the sheet metal cost increases likely had a lot to do with it.

I have 2 units at Premier Storage on the South of town and since I've moved to San Tan Valley (5 years ago), Havasu is getting tough for me to get to these days. I'd love to sell my 2 units and pick something up closer to home - the Mesa location you mentioned would be ideal. Any contact info? A list started? I assume you're probably talking the Mesa / Gateway corridor, which is right in my back yard. The wife and I have had lots of discussions about the sanity of keeping the boat, travel trailer and jet-ski's in Havasu, when we live near Phoenix....... She's been shopping the prices of lots in the East Valley, but I think it would be more practical to have something in a complex, like we currently do, but closer to home.

Thinking about grabbing one of these units up here in northern NV. Any negatives from your perspective @ONE-A-DAY

Can you build out within the unit like a loft?

You can do anything you want with it, its yours. Some of our neighbors have lofts, bars, pool tables, man cave set ups. We are glad we bought ours although we are tempted to sell it now that the price has doubled in two years. Technically you cant live there but nobody cares or knows. We plan on pulling our motorhome in it and staying there when we are in town visiting.

Just out of curiosity for those of you with deeded storages?

I am pretty sure I know the answer already, but here’s the question.
(I also owned a 14x55 at Premier in Phx)

Which storage is more marketable?

A 14 x 65 with 12’ wide by 14’ high door 910sf
or
A 20 x 45 with 16’ wide x 14’ high door, and a regular size entry door? 900sf

I am doing my due diligence right now and plan on building a 8 to 10 unit building. I still have some options on size and shape. Just looking for input.

I would rather have the 20 x 45. Easier to use the space.

I'm in Goodyear and looking for a unit, I'm renting one at Premier right now to store the boat, but rather own it, Anyways let me know if you interested in selling. Thanks!

LoL..

So, if it’s flat out Republican, is there a significant discount?
