Last night about 11:00 pm I sitting out on my front porch and heard what sounded like a sonic boom. I looked up toward the east and saw a “falling star”. It was a pretty good size fireball and it looked like it might have made it all the way to the ground. It was still glowing bright white as it dipped behind the hills.

I didn’t hear it but have seen some serious falling stars since I’ve lived here

Statistically there is one meteorite sitting on every square mile of earth, majority being in the ocean. I bought a slice of a meteorite out in quartzsite one year, they sell it by the gram. The internal patterns on the piece I bought are similar to this, pretty crazy, like Damascus steel but different, you know space rocks 😂

There is a website you can report sitings like these. It's interesting to review other reports posted and actually visualize the flight path by the locations they are reported from. Wife reported one ~3 weeks ago & it was first reported around Vegas, then Kingman, Prescott, Flagstaff....
I've seen a few giant green shooting stars that I've sworn hit ground to the NE of the city but probably not.

Last year as I was driving to work before the sun came up, I saw one burning green before it burnt up. Almost made it to the ground.

It’s in the ocean behind Catalina island.
Apparently they like to visit the Havasu area too. I had a pretty interesting visual encounter last year. Odd shaped craft hovering motionless in the sky suddenly changed shape and zipped across the horizon at a ridiculous speed.
I posted in here about it.

It was headed back to Catalina after the weekend.🤣

Go find it some of these things are worth serious money.
If it was big enough and close enough for you to hear the sonic boom it might be possible!

Who knows how far it is though, it can be a a few miles away or 100 miles away lol, I don't know how these things work. Shit travels far at orbital/hypersonic speeds!
