Sounds like you are going into this situation with a very positive and realistic attitude. IMO that is half the battle right there.

We all want you to recover and thrive. I was thinking about your post last night. It is lovely how many thoughts and prayers posts you receive, but I am a realist and know things need to be ready for whoever takes over my duties when I go.

As a pragmatist I would strongly suggest that you make sure you get all your stuff in order. The will, the trust, the accounts. Keep a listing in a book along with instructions on who needs to handle what. Find the life insurance info. They need to know where to put your remains, if you care. If you have specific things you want to go to a particular person, put it in writing.

Write letters to those you love, make a video or a recording if you wish. Be sure to delete the porn from your hard drive and erase the bad things from your search history. LOL

We have an "If I Die" notebook here with all that stuff in it. It is a bit of a relief not to worry about the things you can't control. I know my wife will be well enough off to stay in the house and have no debts. With the insurance she can pay off all the mortgages and live on the rental income. If we go together the kids will get a great leg up on life.

It's shitty to think about, but shittier to leave it to your grieving family as a mystery they have to unravel.

Having dealt with this, one thought, “burn bag!”

Prayers sent for you buddy. Now quit listening to the down side of things and punch your way through this. An angiogram (something my Dr. thinks I need) isn't the end of the road and can be the start of getting better.

After several hours in the Hospital here's a little update -- left handed hunt and peck style! -- cuz I can't use my right hand/arm yet. Anyway, I had my angiogram and was sure hoping for a couple stents to solve a problem. Well that didn't happen, I do have a couple blockages and will find out on the 1st and how serious they are and likely what it's gonna take to repair. Whatever the outcome, I'll have my affairs in order before anymore procedures -- Have the number and reference's of a person that is top notch.

Just take it one step at a time. Getting your affairs in order is a good idea regardless of your prognosis, and will probably remove at least some stress.

Hopefully you get some encouraging news with a path to a positive outcome

Hang in there...easier said than done but one step at a time.

Well it can't be as bad as my angio. They checked me stopped put in a room and told me I couldn't go home until they did open heart after the weekend. So hang in there it can be fixed.

Like was said. You got this! I know it’s a lot to take in, but these surgeons do this every day! It’s their bread and butter, and you will come thru with flying colors !!!

Open heart is a piece of cake now days. It is so common you wouldn't believe it. I felt so much better after I had mine. PM me if you want to talk about it.

At the age of 75, my grandfather had emergency quadruple bypass heart surgery.
He went on living for another 14 years, until he passed.
So you got this!

I'll find out Friday or Monday after both heart Doc's bump heads to take the best course and pick a day. Either Bypass or pumping heart repair and maybe a stint er 2. But the plan is still a cracked chest. He's more worried about the after! Stitches, plates & screws, wire, staples, glue and shit to keep me together, and infection. Maybe a week in the Hospital and a couple in rehab! --- Guess I'll be missing the Storm and the rest of Aprils events!

My surgery was Wednesday and I was walking out on Sunday before dark.

Edit - 6 way bypass (Cabg-6) no stints involved.

Mine was done on a Monday getting by mid week. Biggest pain was one of the chest drain tubes hurt pushing against a lung. Removed that and no more pain pills. After that hardest park was sleeping, had to sleep on my back while split chest healed and I can't fall asleep that way.

Hoping for the best outcome for you, Bob... I'm thinking this is just a speed bump and you'll be on the road to recovery before you know it. Thank god for modern medicine.

I think the blockage are getting worse. A few steps brings chest pains and more.
