I went there yesterday to try finding an inline fuel pump, bosch type.
Every counter guy had glazed over eyes of confusion. I think they tried to pass a flux capacitor off as a fuel pump ....
Dumbasses.
I haven't run across a knowledgable parts guy at any of the big name parts stores in forever. I think they're extinct.

Me - "Do you have this Bosch fuel pump in stock? Here is the part number."

Dude - "Is that for a 2 door or 4 door sir?"

Me - "Can you just see if you have this part number?"

Dude - "Is that for the SR5 or the Sport?"

Me - "Part number."

Dude - "2WD or 4WD?"

Me - "Nevermind"

Basically that was it. Even had the old one in hand, Pierburg pump. I was trying to find that or a bosch 044 equiv.
I gave them 3 different likely cars to try too but all he found were filters. I just shook my head and walked away.
The only other convenient parts store was a mirror image result.
.
Should have known better and just ordered online to begin with...guess trying to avoid a 2 day wait ain't worth the effort.

I've found Rock Auto is great for searching for parts, and in many cases Amazon is cheaper with shipping for single items like that.

I actually found one decent O'Reilly's employee who knows what I'm talking about and can find what I need. I was looking for a steering linkage for a Jeep Cherokee, I didn't try Amazon for this particular part, but when I did find it at rock auto, it got marked up almost 50% by O'Reillys compared to rock auto. And that was after he gave me his employees discount
