Looking at picking up a swamp cooler for the patio at the Havasu house. I don’t want something that is loud and underpowered. Would love to order today and hand delivered Wednesday. Any suggestions / recommendations?

These suckers pump alot of air, better to go big and place it farther away if needed, than too small.
The fans are usually multi-speed so you can always turn it down, if it's too much.

Theres cheaper ones out there, but these are the ones I see in most commercial areas getting used heavily and gettting the job done...

I bought this one last year and it worked great all summer, will be using it again this year. I did have it hooked through the house water that's filtered and softened.

The one I’m considering when mine dies. This is their largest unit. I believe they make smaller ones that don’t cost as much depending on the size of the area you’re trying to cool.

Have you thought about about adding 1,000psi misters instead of the Swamper?

My brother in law has this same one and I’ll vouch for it. Used it for my patio last year for daughters party when it was 100 it cooled the patio down really good.

I ended up buying the next size down thinking it was the same one but one I did get still does a great job. I had a smaller porta cool before this but the fam pattern was narrow and didn’t seem to cool as good on high.

Picked up this used portacool off of marketplace last year for $60. Cleaned it up and put new filter media in it. Works great! Easily drops the temp 25 degrees in our patio area.

Master Cool has been around for a very long time. I have a 45year old model that is easy to get parts for.

You can connect ductwork, and mount the unit somewhere on the roof, or side of house. They work great until July 15th, and then not so much, but better than nothing.

If you go portable, you’ll need 2-3 to cool off a patio, or you’ll have the entire family fighting for a piece of cool air. 😉

There are a few off grid hippie duds that ran around phoenix for many years hooking up some interesting systems. Saw one that had a koi pond installed, and used one to cool the pond water. 🫢

These guys can get you set up with knowledge. https://indoorcomfortsupply.com/evaporative-cooler-parts/

Im not a mister fan, but we sat under these at a restaurant and they were awesome. Actully got cold. Kind of pricey. The mist is so fine and fan so fast you dont get wet like other misters

I was able to source a few of RDs little misters. Still sitting in storage waiting to be installed.

I purchased two of the large Hessiar units from Ace in Fort Mohave a few years ago, and they've worked great. I did have to replace the pump in one due to hard water buildup, so I recommend not leaving them full if they're going to sit unused for a while. I also add a bit of vinegar occasionally to help keep things clean.

This is a Polar Cool (not Portacool) unit. The fan is 36" and the unit is 5'x5' overall. It five elements that are 48x12x10. They are not cheap, last time I looked the stainless ones like I have are just under 5k and shipping is pricey. I have one on the back yard patio and one for the garage. They work great for cooling things down.

Yeah, pretty happy with ours. We have a fairly large garage and when it’s 105 I can drop the temperature inside down below 80.
It’s hard to tell how much temperature drop I can get with the one on the patio but having that nice cool breeze really makes it pretty comfortable even on those Havasu scorchers.

I looked mine up it’s a 3100 cfm. That would be the very minimum to use. The hessaire my brother in law has is the 5300 cfm unit.

That would be the preferred one to use. It a couple of the smaller units can work good too. Used in good shape can be had for a couple hundred each.
