Congrats and let me be the first to say GDSUX
We go to the sunglass shop every April and get about 3-4 sunglasses. It’s a pretty cool shop. The lady that works in there is super nice and we chat with her for a bit. I never break my sunglasses…I've been a part of both GD and RDP for many moons now, and I'm stoked about Dave's plans for GD. It should be a great comeback.
Wanna know what interesting to me though?
This thread seems to be focused on the he said, she said, bullshit. A lot of complaining about the past.
The intro thread on GD is all about the positive looking forward aspects of what's to come!
So check yourself bitches!
The future is so bright, I gotta get me some new shades!
@Devious_Chris
Who gets the Glamisdunes.com Facebook page??
I think he does a good job running it. The regular glamis page was great at first atleast when Tim did most of it. Seems last two years if you criticize certain people or business you get the boot.I'm pretty sure Randy owns the Instagram page. So maybe
he owns the Facebook page as well?
Lots of things to be sorted out. RD is gonna be Very busy for awhile!
Thank you for the plug! lol I Wear Sunglasses will probably be stocking some more goggles and will be offering some deals for the RDP & GD members for sure!We go to the sunglass shop every April and get about 3-4 sunglasses. Robert proceeds to break the floatable dragons yearly. I believe it’s @Devious_Chris who puts in different lenses since Robert is particular about sunglasses. Well… he broke both sets this summer again. I probably need to call the shop to order him a new set before our next trip.
Anyways… I know this is about the Glamis forums, but I had to give a shout out to the shop. We did get the knucklez googles from there and they work great with switching out lenses easily for the dunes! Afternoon rides always turn into night rides…
Congrats @RiverDave and @Devious_Chris. Robert was a member and is excited. I have never been on the site.
Hes Chief Moderator. Is LOF banned yet?
That kind of shit ruins good forums then they die… just like pirate4x4 post lance…and apparently I gotta have a talk with the mod squad over there because they just banned a guy for saying the word good.. (no shit)

See post #121.Do we PM 460 for our free Glamis Dunes swag?

Always beware of enemies you think aren’t in business…not all of them may be on your side…
GD has swag?... LOLWill 460 be handling GD swag now too?
That’s good. The moderators over there are extremely genuine people that have an incredible bond with the site and the community. I am looking forward to working with them, and getting to know them personally.
I guess that guy that got clipped there's a bit of history there that I don't know about.. The mod guy just had about enough of him being a prick.. Either way it's sorted and we are onto bigger and better things.

Dave and Chris,
Glad to see you take over, and probably save the site.
Change will probably be good. Its evident by the reemergence of Old Timers since the announcement was made.
We want to see it made great again.
Like RDP, it was like a family for a long time. Something changed that.
Thank you for seeing the potential.
Interscope or whatever the hell it was called jacked up a lot of good forums. That kind of shit ruins good forums then they die… just like pirate4x4 post lance…

He is on a cruise right now, but those were assets that came along with the site.

Kraut, that's a name I haven't seen forever! Welcome to RDP!GD has swag?... LOL
Interscope or whatever the hell it was called jacked up a lot of good forums.
Same name here as well.Good thing I have the same screenname over there. LOL . I wasn't even sure I was a member.
RD- You better start liking Glamis if you intend to help make it GREAT AGAIN.
I agree with ASA getting involved with the site, I'd also reach out to the Clean Dune Project People. They have a FB page.
Same name here as well.
There is no other organization that has done more for the ISDRA than the ASA. Sounds like Chris is meeting with Dave who will get'm squared away
As far as The Clean Dune Project, I'm one of the 5 on the BoD for that new non-profit and can answer any questions you have from here or GD. TCDP is about the cleanups and responsible recreation. We also picked up the execution of the Annual MLK Cleanup (27th year coming up). Lots of positive stuff coming from that grass roots movement.
As far as the acquisition of the GD board, I'm stoked. Long time member and it feels like I'm about to finally witness the restoration of that old HemiCuda that's been sitting in the barn for a while...
You been around way longer than this pic and it was in '06Won't brag, but I have been around since the earliest of days, never a moderator, only a member. Many of my family friends came from gd.com. I live in glamis during the season, so it was always a good back-drop. Has it declined, well yes it has, but I'm certain that RDP will bring that spice back!
Congrats, looking forward to some fresh blood.
Perfect! TCDP is Nick, John Paruleski, Cameron Murray, Bryan Myers, and myself. Those bags work great on the water too We formed out of the desire to have a no BS non-profit that is IN the dunes supporting the dunes with 100% going back into the dunes instead of what had been going on.Nick farmer sent me the sponsorship deal for the bags.. GD.com wants to do one. Rdp will do one for sure and I’m sure my wife will probably want to do one for team rdp as well.
Lotsa familiar faces there. Too bad I got fat and you didn't recognize me anymore at the SSSSYou been around way longer than this pic and it was in '06
Going to chock it up to me having a terrible memory and not on my game instead of you being fatLotsa familiar faces there. Too bad I got fat and you didn't recognize me anymore at the SSSS
Former power user of GD... Haven't used it much in more than a decade due to life changes.
More boat oriented now but still getting 5-10 Glamis trips a year in.
My dad, who is getting old, still asks every year when Glamis season rolls around "Hey what happened to that Hozay Kwarvo guy that got our rhino out of those bowls behind China? You see him out there?"Going to chock it up to me having a terrible memory and not on my game instead of you being fat
AWESOME! Be sure to tell pops hi and that I'm still out there doing it! and that you'll see me out there this year ...November 9th (hint/cough)My dad, who is getting old, still asks every year when Glamis season rolls around "Hey what happened to that Hozay Kwarvo guy that got our rhino out of those bowls behind China? This was from a ride out of the @Sandlord 's compound in 2006.
That will be my first trip this season, most likely.AWESOME! Be sure to tell pops hi and that I'm still out there doing it! and that you'll see me out there this year ...November 9th (hint/cough)

@HozayKwarvo can you send me some information on the TCDP as I’d like to get involved as a sponsor or some kind of capacity if I can.Perfect! Some events throughout the season, not the least of which will be the 27th Annual MLK cleanup. Last year when we took over Genesis Supreme was a title sponsor and plenty of room for more partnerships!
Mac for moderator.Just don’t ever bring Mac on as a moderator……………..that was the funniest two week shit show ever!
Havoc has the best goggles I’ve come across for the dunesThank you for the plug! lol I Wear Sunglasses will probably be stocking some more goggles and will be offering some deals for the RDP & GD members for sure!

Let me get it on better software first and we will ease into all kinds of things.. I think this first year is learning the lay of the land and a few bbq’s etc..

Glad you made it out and hope to see ya this year! You can tell that we've outgrown a simple audio setup and even had ~10 2000watt powered PAs a couple years ago that didn't put a dent into it. Now, in addition to the PAs we drag out we have a 110watt radio with a 22ft antenna that broadcasts the entire thing on the race radios... usually BFGRelay. We'll be hitting Calexico border crossing and Osborne from that valley during the ceremony so everyone can hear what's happening, even if you didn't get into the first 1/10th of a mile from the pole. We'll be livestreaming a single camera broadcast during the event and the loading up a full 5+ camera and drone production as soon as it's over for everyone to viewLast year was the 1st time in years that we went for the ceremony!
