Looks like hit a hole going up this hill which maybe caused him to flip back? I've never snowmobiled before so I'm not familiar with how the terrain works.... Such a bummer he had an amazing story.

Reminds me of when Colin McRae died and when Michael Schumacher had a skiing accident. Sad deal.

He was riding a Skidoo G5 with a 154 track. It is extremely easy at the HP they make to wheelie right back over the top. I have had it happen to me but was able to push off to the side of me with my legs. Here is a video of my brother last year...gives you an idea...

WOW...... All of us have had the fkn sled on us at some point, but to get positioned to where it would kill you is a VERY freak thing. Doesn't matter how you go, some ways are certainly better than others, but the result is the same.... RIP Mr. Block.

RIP. Loved his videos and his great attitude.

Reminds me of the tragic passing of Wayside Dave at Alamo Lake and a freak accident when his machine also killed when i saw that article. So tragic.

I still think about him.. what a great guy..

My kids always ask me when we are going back so they can play with his daughter.. 😢

Dave......... One of the best nights in my recent memories of listening to the band that night in that tiny little oasis he built, playing pool with you and the other members and talking with his daughter and you. Still hurts me to feel the pain they must still live with.

And he was just a genuine NICE guy. Sucks.

RIP Ken, Legend. All around fantastic guy. Met him once at an X-Games, just a cool guy.

I've survived similar and had to help many of my friends in the back country while hike-boarding out of bounds, or in heavy snow storms with massive snowfall.

Slide into a tree well or mogul pit upside down and you can get really fucked quickly. Mini Avalanches are common, the snow is deadly.

Deep powder kills many, many sportsman and athletes every year, much less weekend warriors. Wear a pip. Hell these days it's local radios. Work in pairs at least.

The world is lessor now, HOONIGAN Gymkhana literally altered racing media and shattered barriers of possible road-racing and stunt driving forever.

Godspeed Ken! This has been shocking news this week. Tho I had never met him, he has inspired many including myself. He will be missed, never forgotten.

In an email from DC Shoes, they write this statement that I think is worthy to be shared.

🙏🥲

We lost our hero yesterday.

Ken Block was not only the co-founder of DC, but he was the personification of everything our brand stands for.

Confidence. Creativity. Innovation. Pushing Boundaries. Colliding Worlds.

Ken was a visionary and a pioneer. Our team comes to work every day conscious of the fact that we operate in his shadow, navigate by his compass, and compete with his legacy.

Ken’s fearless creativity gave birth to DC.

His innovative spirit drove its product design and marketing to heights only imaginable by him.

His larger-than-life ambition pushed the brand and this entire industry forward.

His relentless energy fueled the creation of DC Snowboarding, Mountain Lab, Gymkhana, Hoonigan, and his many other mind blowing, ground breaking, internet smashing pursuits.

Father. Founder. Force of Nature. There is nobody like Ken Block. He is an icon.

Our hearts and prayers are with Ken’s family and the many people in the global DC tribe whose lives he touched for nearly three decades.

We simply cannot overstate his impact or what a devastating loss this is. Ken will be missed, but certainly never forgotten.

Ken Block Forever.

As much as people on here dont like the show "rediculessness". i guarantee Rob Dyrdek is going through a hard time right now with the passing of KB.. they were pretty close from what I understand! He tought Rob ALOT and one reason fantasy factory was such a success!

RIP KB.. a legend and stand up person lost!!😩

Not sure how skilled Ken was but there is a popular move that a lot of guys are doing now called a Re-entry. Basically you're intentionally redirecting the sled into a 180Deg turn while doing a wheelie up a steep incline. It's extremely challenging to learn, but a real hoot when you pull it off. Not saying Ken was doing this but I have seen guys wind up under their sleds while attempting it. Prayers to Kens family. This really sucks!

Ken was pretty good. Familiar with the move and have done them. Sled goes where your eyes go.

My 11yo showed me this video earlier, after I watched it I was like, that was cool, to which he replied thank you....it was then that I realized that he made it himself on some video editing app he has on his phone.... :)

Well JD looks like I'm on the sidelines with ya for awhile. Had an accident at Tony's Grove last Friday. Wrist is broken in 3 places and the turbo is likely totaled. I still cant even believe it.
