Anyone use these systems? Had a guy stop by today trying to get me to switch over to them. He said they are free in an effort to help with water conservation.

I have not seen these - but I am switching over to a smart controller so I can see WTF is going on. The old school yardbird is killing me. When you are away for week or two you can show up to a lot of dead plants when it is 115 + out.

I got a Behyve by Orbitz I believe and have been pretty happy with it.

The best part is being able to control it in my phone from anywhere. It also has automatic rain delay based on weather.

Haven't had it too long but so far so good and it was only $90 or so but free after a rebate from my water district.

Looks like a decent system after reading their website. I would install if it was free.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the "Free" part of this $ 125 controller is the salesman getting his foot through your door. At which point he will gladly point out various problems with your system they'll gladly rectify :rolleyes I'm sure he'll quickly point out the folly of placing such a sophisticated controller on a system in need of update in order to best utilize the controller's features.

One of the key elements of this controller, besides the wifi and app, is it's ability to micro-manage zones based on weather, seasonal shading and plant type.
If your current layout doesn't support this micro-management scheme, they're going to motivate you to that end.

I have it, works good. I got the controller for free as part of water district water restriction effort. Nice to be able control from phone when working on system, instant on and off.

Yes. Was provided by the water district, they paid for x amount directly from Skydrop in order to help achieve moonbeams target reduction. Now I don't know whether they paid out of budgeted items or received grant but there was no rate increase...

I have one in my house and i love it. I paid 200.00 and its worth every penny. It needs Wi-fi to work to its full potential. Takes real time weather and knows how much to water your grass based on the amount of rain you received.
