Surprise in St. George Utah

So getting a drink in Utah use to be such a pain in the ass
Not anymore
They still have stupid rules
But I sat at a bar
Ordered a drink
Had it before ordering food ( that’s new from before )
Before my drink was empty I had another one waiting ( that’s new also )
Maybe they are getting with the times
I guess you can only have 3 drinks in the first hour
And then one every hour after
But the bartender said shut up and enjoy

And we all know better than argue with bartender

We learned our lesson there a few years back... bring lots of alcohol! Or take a drive to a State Liquor Store, (closed on Sundays I might add)!

You have to go to their "State Liquor Stores" for anything more than beer and wine... Again, PSA closed on Sundays!

Same happened to me in Georgia. State liquor store felt like a high security jailhouse

We were on our way to Yellowstone NP in our motor home …. wind kicked up & pulled over


went into a chiles or a Red Robin for dinner to kill time… had a 20 minute wait and I said well wait in the bar…. Ya right they didn’t have a bar…

that was news to us !

I asked in Moab one time why the beer wasn’t cold. Just sold off the shelf. “Because people would buy it cold and then go outside and drink it.“ Guess it would be ok to buy a bottle of whiskey and sit out on the curb but what do I know.

Same as California 4:79 gallon
Not sure what that was about
Rest of my trip was under $3:50 gal

You must have been in the wrong area. Gas (2 weeks ago) was 2.99 a gallon there. Diesel was 4.00 or so

It depends on the liquor license. I’m in salt lake for business a lot and there are very few bars that have to sell food with booze anymore. Lots of good whiskey bars, speakeasy’s etc. Red rock brewery still has that weird license but they offer a beer cracker, it’s different every day and it’s like a half tortilla with goat cheese and herbs or some shit they toss in the pizza oven for like a $1 to get you around the food deal.
