I am looking for a switch that I can program to shut power off when it reaches a certain temp. Kind of like a gable fan switch but reversed. Any recommendations?

Home Depot sells a T stat switch. I think the range is 90-150. It’s mechanical not digital.

While I have electrician’s attention, where can I get this light switch? I want one. I saw it at gym, are they 277?

Air temp. I want my EZGO charger to shut off when the garage reaches a certain temp.

HD has those?

Meh. Just buy one of these guys and program it will your phone to only turn at night. You can turn it on and off from your phone as well.

Ten bucks and your done.

In regards to your T-stat question. You're wanting an "Open on Temp Rise" AKA a Heating Thermostat. What you need to be careful of is it's amp rating for Non-Resistive loads. I know my old golf cart charger can easily draw over 10 amps input at 120V. Here's an example that might work for you. Otherwise just google the Open on Rise heating T-Stat. Might take some additional homework to get the amp rating specs.

Be careful there, most golfcart battery chargers kick into charge mode for an hour or 2 when they are 1st plugged in, and then start monitoring charge level. Older ones are especially bad about this. Will overcharge and kill a battery pack in short order.

Simple solution, do a mini split AC in the garage.

Lol. Working on it... Hangar is air conditioned. Well insulated and never gets over 90 inside w/o AC on, but we don't want to open hangar door eveytime to use the cart.

When the inside of garage hits say for example 100 degrees, I don't want the charger on. So I would want it to cut power at a set temp.

Hence "Open on temp rise" -- like a T-stat design for a heating load. From what I've seen, the price goes up accordingly with both max temp above 90 degrees, and max amp load capacity.

I got a brand new charger with the safety / trickle / maintain settings like the boat. Just don't want it running in the heat. Manual says not to use over 105 degrees.

but your asking for dead zone times we dont know, your charging wont happen at all if you dont know the perameters that might be needed, $35 dollor timer from ace, hd , keep it simple

So what about a timer, something like you’d use for a lamp when not home. So it only runs from 8pm till 8am

What?!?! You read the manual????
This should work for you. Set it to heat to 100 deg. Way simpler than the solution I had brewing in my head.

after much thought, thats my final fix suggestion, normal timers won't handle the amprage, but they do make 120/240 water heater timers that will!!!!

Edit. Sorry saw you want off not on. You can always wire through a relay to achieve what you want.

Exactly, just use the Normally closed side of the contactor, when the temp hits and energizes the relay the circuit will open (turn off)

Or maybe more like 5:00 am to 5:15 am 🤣 🤣 🤣

Ya for sure in the summer months!!

I ordered this. I'll set it to shut off at 100 degrees and see how it works out.
